About the Competition

The Moot Court Society of Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, is holding the 10th edition of the S.K. Puri Memorial International Moot Court Competition, styled Justified'26. The competition runs in memory of Late Shri Surinder Kumar Puri, Senior Advocate, who took his law degree from the University of Delhi in 1962, built a practice from Tis Hazari to the Delhi High Court, was designated Senior Advocate in 2001, and served six terms as Honorary Secretary of the Delhi High Court Bar Association between 1974 and 1985.

Justified started in 2015 as a national competition of the Moot Court Society. In 2018 it became the S.K. Puri Memorial International Moot Court Competition, instituted through a collaboration with Senior Advocate Sacchin Puri, an alumnus of Law Centre-II, in memory of his father. Since 2019 it has drawn teams from Indian law schools and from other South Asian jurisdictions. The 9th edition, held in November 2025, was won by Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, with Amity University, Rajasthan as Runner-Up and Christ (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru as Second Runner-Up.

How Registration Works

Registration runs in two stages. Provisional registration opened on 20 July 2026 and closes on 19 August 2026, through the Google Form circulated by the Moot Court Society and linked below. Final registration opens on 21 August 2026, and the last date for final registration is 21 September 2026.

The brochure does not carry a separate final registration link. Teams that have registered provisionally should watch the Law Centre-II website and the Moot Court Society's own channels for the final registration form.

Prize Money

The brochure puts the total prize pool at Rs 2,11,000, spread across team placements, three memorial awards, two speaker awards and a best witness award. The individual amounts are set out in the awards section of this page.

What the Organisers Have Not Yet Released

The brochure schedules the release of the Moot Proposition and the Rule Book for 7 August 2026. As of 11 August 2026 neither is posted on the Law Centre-II website. Still awaited are:

  • The Moot Proposition, which fixes the subject area and the sides
  • The Rule Book, which carries eligibility, team composition, memorial requirements and the registration fee

The brochure states no registration fee. Earlier editions of Justified have charged one: the 2022 Rule Book, still hosted on the Law Centre-II website, set it at Rs 2,000 per team. Teams should budget for a fee and take the exact amount from the 2026 Rule Book once it is published.
