On 3 and 4 November 2026, IMODEV will organise the 11th Academic Days on Open Government and Digital Issues in a hybrid format, online and in person at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Institut Juridique de la Sorbonne (IRJS-DreDis), Paris. Directed by Irène Bouhadana and William Gilles, this international conference is the 43rd edition in IMODEV's series of international conferences on Information Society Law and Governance, and continues the Academic Days held every November since 2016-17, when France chaired the Open Government Partnership.
IMODEV (Institut du Monde et du Développement pour la Bonne Gouvernance Publique) is an international, independent, non-profit scientific organisation promoting good public governance in the information society through a worldwide network of researchers. The University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne is one of France's largest and most renowned universities, and DreDis is the department of the Institut de Recherche Juridique de la Sorbonne (IRJS) dedicated to research into immaterial and digital law.
The conference is multidisciplinary, associating law, political science, economics, administration, computer science, social sciences and more. Workshops can cover all topics related to open government and digital issues, including:
The Academic Days aim to bring together all academics interested in open government and digital issues, regardless of discipline, including nationals of non-OGP countries. The event is expressly open to young researchers: PhDs, PhD students and master's students. Young researchers can also apply to help organise and moderate roundtables or workshops under the supervision of a senior researcher.
Workshops allow participants to discuss and build on themes related to open government and digital issues in open groups of ten to twenty people. Speakers may also propose new workshop themes to the Scientific Committee once a workshop meets a minimum of five participants. A proposal must indicate the working language (French, English or Spanish), the name and position of the person responsible for the workshop, the workshop title, and a ten-line abstract written in French, English or Spanish, which will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee.
Registration on the official event platform is mandatory before 10 July 2026, whether you join as a speaker or as a participant. Proposals for presentations are submitted through the same platform: the speaker registration form asks for your details, institution, country, speech title and abstract, preferred language (French, English or Spanish) and delivery format (in person in Paris or online).
The official Call for Papers and the registration form do not state any registration fee. For any questions regarding the organisation, contact IMODEV via the official platform.
