Overview

Amity Law School, Amity University Bengaluru is inviting you to take part in the 1st National Virtual Essay Writing Competition on Corporate Law in the Era of Technological Disruptions, 2026. This is a fully online competition that asks you to think hard about where corporate law meets artificial intelligence, data, digital platforms and the wider technological shifts reshaping how companies are run and regulated.

If you enjoy writing analytical, research backed legal essays and you want a credible national platform on a genuinely current theme, this is a strong fit. You can enter on your own or as a team of two, and the top entries take home cash prizes alongside certificates.

About the organiser

Amity University Bengaluru is a private university established under the Karnataka Act No. 16 of 2018 and is part of the wider Amity education network. The campus is located at Devanahalli, on the Devanahalli to Doddaballapur road in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Amity Law School Bengaluru runs undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in law, with a stated focus on research, values and global exposure. The competition is organised by the Law School as a national academic exercise for students, scholars and academicians.

What is involved

You write an original legal essay on the central theme of corporate law in the era of technological disruption. The organisers have set out a broad list of sub themes so you can pick the angle that interests you most, including:

  • Artificial intelligence in corporate decision making
  • Corporate liability in autonomous systems
  • Data as a corporate asset
  • Dark patterns and consumer facing design
  • Big Tech and competition law
  • ESG compliance
  • Cryptocurrency regulation
  • Smart contracts
  • Platform governance
  • Algorithmic bias
  • Cross border digital corporations
  • Cyber risk
  • Corporate law in the metaverse

Treat the sub themes as starting points. A focused, well argued essay on one clear question will read better than a broad survey.

Who can apply

The competition is open to a wide academic audience:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Postgraduate students
  • Research scholars
  • Academicians

You may submit as a single author or as a team of two co authors.

Requirements

This is an essay writing competition, so the work you submit must be your own original writing on the theme. Build your essay around a clear thesis, support it with proper legal research and citations, and make sure it reads as analysis rather than description.

The brochure carries the full formatting and submission rules, including any word limit, font, citation style and originality or plagiarism requirements. Read the official brochure and the registration page carefully and follow every instruction there before you submit, since detailed formatting specifics are set by the organisers.

Fees and prizes

The registration fee is 500 rupees for an individual entry and 800 rupees for a team of two. Payment is made through the official Amity University Bengaluru event registration page linked below.

The winning essay receives 7,000 rupees and the runner up receives 5,000 rupees. Certificates are awarded to recognise participation and the winning entries.

How to apply

To enter, complete the official registration on the Amity University Bengaluru event page, pay the applicable fee, and submit your essay through the organisers registration route.
