About RGNUL

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab was established by the State Legislature of Punjab through the RGNUL Act, 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006) as a university of national stature for legal education. It is approved by the Bar Council of India, recognised by the UGC under Sections 2(f) and 12-B, and was accredited with an A Grade by NAAC in 2015. RGNUL was granted autonomy under UGC Regulations in 2018.

About the FDP

This is the 2nd Edition of the One-Week Faculty Development Programme on Integrating Indian Knowledge System and Law, organised by the Centre for Advanced Studies in Human Rights (CASIHR), RGNUL, in association with the Centre for Advanced Studies in Labour Welfare (CASLW), RGNUL.

The FDP aims to familiarise academicians with the relevance and application of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in contemporary legal education, research, and teaching pedagogy. It promotes a multidisciplinary and value-based approach to legal studies by integrating traditional Indian jurisprudence, ethics, governance models, indigenous dispute resolution systems, and constitutional values with modern legal frameworks, in alignment with the objectives of NEP 2020.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be equipped to integrate Indian Knowledge System perspectives into legal research, teaching, and academic practice. The programme covers identifying interdisciplinary research areas, developing research proposals, critically analysing classical Indian texts and their contemporary relevance, and applying innovative teaching methodologies, experiential learning techniques, and value-oriented pedagogical approaches.

Who Can Attend

The FDP is meant for faculty members, research scholars, and academic professionals from law and other related disciplines such as the social sciences.

Schedule & Mode

The programme runs from 13 to 18 July 2026 in online mode, with daily sessions from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Fee

Rs. 1500 (including GST). Payment is made through the official RGNUL event portal.

Register through the official Google Form before 9 July 2026 and complete the fee payment via the RGNUL online payment portal.
