About the Conference

The Centre for Excellence in Gender Studies, ICFAI Law School, is organising the Second International Conference on Gender and Human Rights on 8 and 9 October 2026 at the IFHE Campus, Dontanpalli, Hyderabad. The conference carries the line "Equality, Justice, Dignity, Empowerment" and sets out to provide a multidisciplinary platform for academicians, researchers, professionals, practitioners, students and policymakers to deliberate on contemporary issues relating to gender equality, human rights, law, justice and social transformation.

All accepted papers will be presented in technical sessions at the conference.

About the Organiser

ICFAI Law School is part of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad, a deemed-to-be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Its Centre for Excellence in Gender Studies promotes academic research in gender studies through research projects, conferences and seminars, and scholarly publication, and works on awareness and access to justice in gender-related matters.

Indicative Themes

  • Gender-based violence and discrimination: rights of survivors of gender-based violence; challenges faced by survivors and the readiness of the justice system; advocacy and human rights lawyering for victims of gender-based violence
  • LGBTQIA+ rights and legal recognition: legal recognition of gender identities; social inclusion; right to marriage and adoption
  • Reproductive justice: reproductive justice and equality; access to contraception and termination; access to reproductive health and the legal framework
  • Technology, privacy and human rights: media, gender and human rights law; artificial intelligence and its impact on gender inequalities; the digital divide, gender and the legal system
  • Climate change and gender justice: gender, migration and poverty from a gender perspective; gender inclusive spaces and the law; sustainable development and the gender discourse
  • Impact of gender on economic and social rights: right to work and non-discrimination at the workplace; special legislation for protection from sexual harassment at the workplace; other special legislation relating to maternity relief

Who Can Participate

Students, research scholars, academicians, professionals and practitioners in the field of law can participate. Co-authorship is limited to two authors. Both Indian and international participants are catered for, with separate fee slabs in rupees and US dollars.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstracts of 300 to 500 words with keywords, accompanied by the name, designation and contact details of the author or authors
  • Full papers of 3,000 to 5,000 words exclusive of footnotes
  • Abstract and full paper formatting: Times New Roman, font size 12, spacing 1.5, with 1 inch margins on all sides
  • Footnoting style: Bluebook 20th edition, Times New Roman, font size 10, single spaced
  • The full paper must be submitted with a plagiarism report of less than 10%
  • All submissions are to be sent to genderstudies@ifheindia.org

Registration Fee

  • Students and research scholars, participation with paper presentation: Rs. 1,000 (India) or USD 30 (international)
  • Students and research scholars, participation only: Rs. 500 (India) or USD 20 (international)
  • Academicians and professionals, participation with paper presentation: Rs. 1,500 (India) or USD 40 (international)
  • Academicians and professionals, participation only: Rs. 1,000 (India) or USD 30 (international)

The organisers state that the payment link must be used for registration and fee payment.

How to Apply

Send the abstract to genderstudies@ifheindia.org on or before 20 September 2026 in the prescribed format, and register and pay the fee through the official IFHE conference page for this event.

Publication and Certification

Selected papers will be considered for publication, subject to review, in a book with an ISBN. E-certificates will be provided to all participants. This is a book chapter route rather than a journal, and the organisers make no indexing claim.
