About the moot

The 6th CCI-NUJS National Competition Law Moot in association with Shivadass & Shivadass is organised by the Society for International Trade and Competition Law (SITC) of The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata. The Competition Commission of India (CCI) and Shivadass & Shivadass Law Chambers are the title sponsors, Axiom5 Law Chambers is the knowledge partner, and Chandhiok & Mahajan and Trilegal are premier sponsors.

The moot proposition, released on 8 October 2026, is a competition law dispute concerning an online e-commerce marketplace, its sellers and a related dynamic pricing tool. All oral and written submissions must be in English.

  • Students in postgraduate or diploma programmes are not eligible.
  • Students currently enrolled at WBNUJS cannot participate.

  • Memorandum Qualifier Round: every registered team submits two memorandums (Complainant and Responding Party) as soft copies in both PDF and Word format through the submission form on the SITC website by 10 November 2026, 11:59 PM IST. Each memorandum may not exceed 40 pages.
  • The top 32 teams on memorandum scores qualify for the Oral Rounds; results are announced on 4 December 2026.
  • Oral Rounds are held physically at the NUJS campus, Kolkata: two Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and the Final.
  • Qualified teams bring five hard copies of each memorandum at check-in. Plagiarism in a memorandum can lead to disqualification, and all memorandums go through an AI check using Turnitin; the rulebook sets out the permitted uses of AI.

Registration fee

  • Memorandum Qualifier Round: Rs 5,400 per team.
  • Oral Rounds: the top 32 teams pay an additional Rs 6,600 per team by 8 December 2026. This covers accommodation and local transport between the University and the place of accommodation for the days of the event.

  • Teams that withdraw on or before 4 November 2026 receive a refund after deduction of transaction costs; no refund is given after that date.
