The Moot Court Association of the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, in collaboration with Singhania & Partners LLP, is organising the 8th NLIU-Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2026. NLIU, established in 1997, is recognised by the University Grants Commission and the Bar Council of India and is regarded as one of India's premier law schools.
The competition simulates lawyer-client interactions and is designed to strengthen participants' client counselling, communication, negotiation and legal problem-solving skills, giving law students realistic exposure to advising clients and providing accurate legal guidance.
The competition is open to students enrolled in law schools and universities across India. Each team must consist of two members, both of whom participate as counsels. An institution may register up to two teams, with prior approval from the organisers obtained via email.
The competition is held in physical mode only at the NLIU campus, Bhopal. Participation is limited to a maximum of 20 teams on a first-come, first-served basis. The format emphasises practical client-handling skills assessed by legal practitioners.
