About the Notification

This is a call for applications issued by National Law University Delhi, Sector-14, Dwarka, New Delhi - 110 078, under Ref. No. NLUD/Admin./2026/2572 dated July 24, 2026. The notification is signed by the Registrar and issued at New Delhi.

The University seeks to engage one Academic Fellow for one year on a contractual basis for the Joint Masters/LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law & Management Programme.

About the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme

The National Law University has recently launched the Joint Masters/LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law and Management, which is being jointly offered by the National Law University Delhi (NLUD), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM, the Indian IP Office).

This programme seamlessly blends Intellectual Property Law expertise with cutting-edge management principles. This unique programme adopts a dual-track approach wherein the Masters of Arts in Intellectual Property Law and Management (M.A. Degree Programme) / Master of Law in Intellectual Property Law and Management (LL.M. Degree Programme).

The Position

Eligibility

Educational qualification: LL.M. (IPR Spl.) with minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed).

Experience: The candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), which may include IP litigation, transactions, research, or experience as a teaching assistant.

Added advantage: A strong research record in IP will be an added advantage. Knowledge of international intellectual property law, including international IP treaties, will be considered an additional advantage.

Candidates must ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions as on the last date for receipt of applications. Eligibility will be determined based on qualifications and information submitted up to that date only. No additional documents will be considered thereafter.

Job Profile

  • Will facilitate as a teaching assistant for faculty and experts involved in teaching the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme faculty.
  • Will assist in the organization and implementation of the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme.
  • Any other work assigned by the Programme Director of the WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters/LL.M. Programme or by the University/Centre/Chair in the area of Intellectual Property.

Remuneration and Terms of Engagement

  • The selected candidates will receive monthly Remuneration of Rs. 60,000/- per month. TDS as applicable under the Income Tax Act will be deducted from the monthly remuneration in accordance with applicable rules and University regulations.
  • The appointment shall be for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and requirement of the University.
  • The engagement shall be purely contractual and temporary in nature and shall not confer any right to regular appointment or absorption in the University.
  • No additional benefits/perks shall be provided.

Criteria of Selection

Stage 1 (50 marks)

  • Educational Qualification and Academic Performance - 25 marks
  • Relevant experience - 25 marks

Stage 2 (50 marks)

  • Written Test - 25 marks
  • Interview (Knowledge & Behavioral Profile) - 25 marks

Important Guidelines

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on an assessment of their application documents submitted through the online form, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for further selection process.
  • Only those candidates selected for the interview will be contacted.
  • Candidates must ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions as on the last date for receipt of applications.
  • If at any stage, before or after selection, it is found that a candidate does not meet eligibility criteria, has provided false or incorrect information, concealed facts, or submitted fake documents, their candidature or appointment will be cancelled and may lead to legal action.
  • Mere possession of the prescribed qualifications does not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview. Candidates will be shortlisted based on scrutiny of applications and other criteria decided by the University. The University's decision regarding eligibility, shortlisting, and selection shall be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entertained.
  • Applications that are incomplete, received after the last date, or not supported with the prescribed application fee and required self-attested documents or testimonials will be rejected.
  • Candidates currently in employment must submit their application through the proper channel.
  • The University reserves the right to: (i) accept or reject any application; (ii) withdraw the advertisement; (iii) modify the selection process; or (iv) withhold the post at any stage without assigning any reason.
  • Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
  • The appointment will be purely temporary and will not confer any right to regularization, will not carry benefits applicable to regular faculty, will be subject to verification of antecedents, and may be terminated at any time due to misconduct, unsatisfactory performance, or subsequent ineligibility.
  • The selected candidate must demonstrate advanced skills, relevant experience, research contributions, and measurable impact appropriate for a high-standard national-level higher education institution.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or interaction.
  • The rules and regulations of National Law University Delhi shall be applicable to the selected candidate.
