Additional Legal Counsel

Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university
Bar Council enrolment
Experience in dealing with and handling cases in Government offices under various Rules, Acts and Regulations
Preference for applicants who know Cantonment Laws and Rules or who have dealt with Defence land cases within the Cantonment area

Full-time Legal Assistant

Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university
Bar Council enrolment
At least 05 years of experience of working independently and handling cases of government organizations
Engaged on a monthly honorarium basis; the amount is not stated in the notification

How to apply

Interested candidates submit their applications along with certificates in respect of their educational qualification and their experience in working as a counsel in any Government organization. Applications for the engagement of Additional Legal Counsel and for the full-time Legal Assistant must be submitted separately.

Application form

The form is headed Application Form for Appointment of Additional Legal Standing Counsel/Legal Assistant. Applicants are asked to fill in all applicable particulars in BLOCK LETTERS and attach self-attested copies of the required documents. It has these sections:

Personal details: name, father’s name, mother’s or spouse’s name, date of birth, gender, nationality, address for communication, permanent address, mobile or telephone number and e-mail ID.
Professional details: Bar Council enrolment number, date of enrolment as Advocate, name of the Bar Council, total years of professional practice, present professional status or designation, and name and address of chamber, office or firm, if applicable.
Educational qualifications: qualification, university or institution, year of passing and percentage or grade.
Areas of legal practice or specialization in which the applicant has substantial experience.
Experience in matters relating to Government, local bodies and statutory authorities, if any.
Professional achievements and other relevant information.
Declaration that the information and enclosed documents are true and correct. False, incomplete or misleading information may result in rejection of the application or termination of engagement, if appointed. The applicant also declares that they have read and understood the terms and conditions for the appointment and agree to abide by them.
