About the journal

Amity Law Review is published by Amity Law School at Amity University, Sector 125, Noida. It carries ISSN 2249-2232 and has been ranked 8 by NLSIU among Indian law journals. The journal follows a double blind peer review process and runs every submission through plagiarism detection software at the first stage of review.

ALR welcomes contributions across the full spectrum of law, including constitutional, civil, criminal, corporate, arbitration, cyber, and intellectual property law, as well as emerging and contemporary legal debates. Being open access, accepted work is made freely available to readers worldwide.

What you can submit

The journal accepts the following categories of original, unpublished work:

  • Research papers and articles: 5,000 to 7,000 words, including footnotes.
  • Short notes and case comments: 3,000 to 5,000 words.
  • Book reviews: 1,500 to 2,000 words.

Longer submissions may be accepted where editorially justified. Every submission must be accompanied by an abstract of around 200 to 250 words outlining the central themes, along with up to 5 keywords. A maximum of two co-authors is permitted per submission.

Who can apply

The journal seeks contributions from academicians, professionals and jurists. Law students and research scholars working on original legal scholarship are also encouraged to submit, subject to meeting the quality and formatting standards below.

Formatting requirements

  • Font: Times New Roman throughout.
  • Title: 14pt, bold, centered, in capitals.
  • Body text: 12pt, 1.5 line spacing.
  • Footnotes: 10pt, 1.0 line spacing. Footnotes, not endnotes, must be used for all references.

Citation style

Amity Law Review uses its own footnote citation style, developed with reference to OSCOLA and the Bluebook 20th Edition. All references must appear as footnotes, not endnotes.

Originality and ethics

All work submitted must be original and the author's own. Plagiarism and self plagiarism (reusing identical content across multiple papers) are not permitted, and submissions found to contain such content are liable to be rejected. Every submission is screened with plagiarism detection software at the first stage of review. Content borrowed from other sources must be fully referenced and acknowledged. A copyright form and a declaration of originality form are required upon acceptance.
