Army Institute of Law Journal [Peer-Reviewed, ISSN 0975-8208] Volume XX, 2027 - Call for Papers

The Army Institute of Law Journal [ISSN No: 0975-8208] is a peer-reviewed journal published annually by Army Institute of Law, Sector-68, Mohali. The journal is an endeavour to enhance awareness of contemporary legal issues, engage in multi-disciplinary study, and analyse the various issues that show the dynamism of law.

It seeks to provide a platform for academicians, professionals, research scholars and students to contribute to multi-disciplinary discussions on the themes of law, justice and society, and is guided by an editorial committee. The Board describes it as an opportunity for intellectuals to express innovative and practical writings, latest developments and reformative solutions in the area of law and research, so that readers can explore the challenges before legislators, lawyers and society at large in an ever-changing social, economic and technological scenario.

The journal is open access - all archives, from 2013 to 2025, are available free on the official website of Army Institute of Law, Mohali. The Editorial Board now welcomes unpublished original articles and research papers for the upcoming Volume XX, Issue 2027.

• Submission is open only to Teachers, Academicians, Professionals and Ph.D. Research Scholars.
• Only one co-author is allowed.
• Students may be included as a co-author, but not as a sole or lead author.
• Contributions must be in the English language only, and in conformity with AIL's scheme and style.

• A covering letter carrying the name(s) of the author(s), official designation, institution or affiliation, the title of the manuscript, and contact information (correspondence address, email, phone number).
• A certificate that the paper is a piece of original and bonafide research work and has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
• A similarity index report from recognised similarity-checker (plagiarism) software.

• Word limit: 4,000 to 6,000 words for articles and research papers, including footnotes. The limit must be strictly adhered to.
• File format: electronic submissions should ideally be in Word format (.doc / .docx).
• Citation style: text and citation style must strictly conform to the rules of the Indian Law Institute (ILI). The Board states that a paper not following this mode of citation shall not be considered for publication.
• Anonymity: no biographical information or references, including author name(s), affiliation(s) and acknowledgments, may appear in the text of the manuscript or in the document properties. All such information goes in the covering letter.
• Language: articles are edited and published according to the orthographical and grammatical rules of Indian English, which is based on British English; submissions in American English will be modified accordingly.
• Web sources: for references from websites, give the complete URL along with the date the website was last accessed.
• The journal encourages original work and promotes gender neutrality; plagiarised work will not be considered.

• All authors must certify that the paper is original, bonafide research work and has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
• Copyright of all entries received vests exclusively with the Army Institute of Law; submission implies that the contributor has assigned such rights to AIL on publication in the journal.
• Authors must obtain written permission for any copyrighted material used in the manuscript, including tables, charts and graphs, and communicate the same to the Editorial Board.
• Authors must inform the Editorial Board if they have submitted the manuscript to another law journal and if they have received an offer of publication.
• Mere submission confers no claim to publication. The Editorial Board reserves all rights over the decision to publish, and its decision on the interpretation of the guidelines or any related matter is final.
• Authors are requested to verify all references and quotations before submitting the manuscript.

On receipt of a contribution, a constituted committee screens it to satisfy itself that the paper conforms to AIL's conditions and policy for submission. The screened work is then assessed by referees through a blind review procedure: reviewers are not informed of the author's name, university or institution, designation, or any other personal information.

A contribution recommended by the referee as fit for publication, or recommended for publication with necessary amendments, is considered for publication once the author submits the amended paper. Authors are given one week to carry out the changes suggested. If the article is not published, the author is intimated by the Institute through email and may then send it for publication elsewhere.

The Army Institute of Law Journal does not charge anything for the submission or publication of manuscripts. There is no article processing charge.

An author whose paper is published is entitled to one copy of the journal; where there is a co-author, two copies are given.
