Assistant Legal Aid Advisor, Superintendent (Legal) and Assistant (Legal) at National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi (4 Deputation Vacancies, Pay Level-7 to Level-11)

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), the statutory apex body constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, has issued a vacancy circular (File No. A/02/2025-NALSA, dated 10 September 2026) to fill 12 posts in its New Delhi office on deputation basis. Three of the posts (four vacancies) are legal posts: Assistant Legal Aid Advisor, Superintendent (Legal) and Assistant (Legal).

• Assistant Legal Aid Advisor: 1 post, Level-11 (Rs 67,700 - Rs 2,08,700)
• Superintendent (Legal): 1 post, Level-8 (Rs 47,600 - Rs 1,51,100)
• Assistant (Legal): 2 posts, Level-7 (Rs 44,900 - Rs 1,42,400)

The posts carry pay and allowances at the current 7th Central Pay Commission rates notified by the Central Government from time to time.

The same circular also covers eight non-legal vacancies (Accounts Officer, Superintendent (IT), Assistant Accounts Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Senior Secretariat Assistant, Stenographer Grade 'D' and Assistant Librarian). Their details are in the circular.

• Assistant Legal Aid Advisor: officers of the Central/State Government, Union Territories or autonomous/statutory bodies holding an analogous post on a regular basis, or with 5 years' regular service in Level-10 (Rs 56,100 - 1,77,500) or Level-9 (Rs 53,100 - 1,67,800), or 6 years' regular service in Level-8 (Rs 47,600 - 1,51,100). Essential: a Bachelor's Degree in Law with 3 years' experience in legal matters in Central/State Government, UT administrations, PSUs, autonomous or statutory bodies or a recognised research institute; OR a Master's Degree in Law with 1 year of such experience.
• Superintendent (Legal): analogous post on a regular basis, or 2 years' regular service in Level-7, or 6 years' regular service in Level-6. Essential: a Bachelor's Degree in Law with 3 years' experience in legal matters in government, PSUs, autonomous or statutory bodies or a recognised research institute. Desirable: knowledge of administrative, establishment or court matters.
• Assistant (Legal): analogous post on a regular basis, or 5 years' regular service in Level-6. Essential: a Bachelor's Degree in Law and 2 years' experience in legal matters in Central/State Government, UT administrations, PSUs, autonomous or statutory bodies.

• Fresh candidates, retired officials and persons serving in the private sector should not apply; their applications will not be considered.
• Departmental officers/officials of NALSA are not eligible for appointment on deputation.
• For Superintendent (Legal) and Assistant (Legal) (within Sl. Nos. 3 to 10 of the circular), the upper age limit for deputation is 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.

Applications must be made in the prescribed form (Annexure-A, included in the circular) and forwarded through the employer/cadre controlling authority, with the employer's certification, attested copies of ACRs for the last five years and vigilance clearance. Only candidates whose services can be spared immediately should be forwarded. Applications must reach the following address on or before Saturday, 10 October 2026:

Applications received after the stipulated date will not be entertained. There is no application fee mentioned in the circular.

The appointment will be made initially for three years (extendable subject to satisfactory performance) on the usual deputation terms and conditions and Government orders issued from time to time. If premature reversion to the parent cadre becomes necessary, the deputationist may be returned after at least three months' notice to the lending Ministry/Department/Organisation and the employee.
