Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate with external lawyers and internal stakeholders for drafting, managing, distributing and responding to all litigation and regulatory queries and requirements.
  • Interact and work closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders on all legal matters, including issues that cross organisational and geographical boundaries.
  • Advise the business functions on compliance and legal issues.
  • Draft, vet and review contractual agreements, RFPs and NDAs in line with internal stakeholders' expectations.
  • Draft and file legal documents and correspondence issued from the General Counsel's Office.
  • Transcribe minutes of meetings, prepare cases, maintain notes for case files, and prepare briefs for the General Counsel and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with team members on presentations, decks and guidance documents.
  • Track and manage cases efficiently, with timely and regular briefs to the General Counsel on every matter.
  • Review contract terms and conditions for compliance with firm policy and applicable law, and identify potential litigation threats.
  • Carry out legal research, legal analysis and litigation support activities as required.

Eligibility and experience

  • Qualification: LLB.
  • Experience: 8+ years in the law/legal field, specifically in law firms or the in-house legal team of multinational companies.
  • Proficiency with applicable laws, with emphasis on corporate laws and data privacy laws, and with legal procedures, protocols and the functioning of various courts and tribunals in India.
  • Basic understanding of GDPR and of reviewing data processing agreements.
  • A clear understanding of EY's policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work efficiently under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • Client and internal stakeholder management skills, and comfort working at pace in a hands-on environment.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English.
  • Short notice period.
