Dr. Rammanohar Lohia Avadh University is a State university at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, established in 1975 and named after the socialist leader Dr. Rammanohar Lohia. Alongside its large affiliating network across the Awadh region, the University runs taught programmes on its own campus through faculties of engineering, pharmacy, applied sciences, commerce, management, fine arts and legal education.
The Centre for Legal Education is the University Campus department that delivers its law programmes. The five posts covered by this listing are all attached to that Centre. Advertisement No. 06/2026 also advertises posts in Engineering, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Applied Science (Mathematics), Fine Arts, B.Com, BCA and MBA (Agri-Business), plus a Director post for the Institute of Engineering and Technology, so the candidate list on the portal will be longer than the law vacancies alone.
All five law posts are self-finance contractual appointments in the Centre for Legal Education. Applications must quote the exact post code, and a separate application with a separate fee is required for each post code.
The advertisement is issued under U.P. State G.O. 977/Sattar-1-2019-16(19)/2019 dated 2 September 2019 and the related reservation orders of the Department of Higher Education, Uttar Pradesh. The University expressly reserves the right to add to or reduce the number and nature of the vacancies.
Law falls within the group of disciplines (Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Education, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages, Library Science, Physical Education and Journalism & Mass Communication) for which the advertisement sets the following eligibility. A candidate must satisfy route A or route B.
NET/SLET/SET is also not required for Master's programmes in disciplines for which no such test is conducted.
For Associate Professor in Law and the cognate disciplines the advertisement requires all of the following.
Experience claimed must be at UGC scale or equivalent total emoluments, and must be supported by Form 16 and bank statements covering the entire period claimed. A Ph.D. from a foreign university requires an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, unless the degree was obtained through an MHRD Foreign Scholarship Programme nomination.
Selection follows Governor's Secretariat, U.P. Orders No. 4229/JS dated 2 July 2021, 5862/JS dated 3 September 2021, 2385/JS dated 28 April 2022 and 3019/32-JS/2020 dated 18 May 2023, read with UGC Regulations 2018 and BCI norms. A Scrutiny Committee first checks the application forms.
Candidates get at least seven days from publication of the cumulative Basic Academic and API/Research score to file objections, and at least three days from publication of the written examination score. A duly constituted Selection Committee conducts the interview and submits the result in a sealed envelope to the Vice Chancellor. Original certificates are required only at the interview stage.
The application fee is non-refundable and depends on category.
Candidates applying for more than one post code must submit a separate application for each post code along with the requisite fee for each. Applications received without the requisite documents or fee, or after the prescribed date, will not be entertained, and incomplete applications are summarily rejected.
The application process is online only, on the University's Samarth recruitment portal. Registration opened on 20 August 2026 and the portal remains open for online submission until 20 September 2026.
These are self-finance contractual appointments on the University Campus. Qualifications, pay scales and other conditions follow UGC Regulations 2018, BCI norms, AICTE and PCI norms as applicable and the rules of the Uttar Pradesh State Government; the advertisement does not print a figure for remuneration. Service conditions and the age of superannuation follow U.P. State Government norms.
