The University of Lucknow, accredited A++ by NAAC, has issued Advertisement No. R/01/2026/SF dated 23 July 2026 inviting online applications from Indian citizens for the post of Assistant Professor (Contractual) in the Department of Law. The appointments are for the LL.B. (Integrated) 5-Year course, which the University runs under its Self Finance Scheme.
The Faculty of Law at the University of Lucknow was established in 1921 and introduced its five-year LL.B. (Hons.) course in 1995. The advertisement is signed by the Registrar and the entire application process runs through the University's SAMARTH recruitment portal.
The advertisement also records that the 10 posts of Assistant Professor (Contractual) for the LL.B. (Integrated) 5-Year Programme advertised earlier under Advertisement No. R/02/2023(SF) dated 10 November 2023 stand cancelled. Applicants from that earlier advertisement have to apply afresh under the current one.
All 27 posts are in the Faculty of Law, Department of Law, for the 5-year Law programme. The category-wise break-up given in the advertisement is:
Total = 11 + 05 + 08 + 03 = 27 posts. No ST posts are advertised in this cycle. The University has expressly reserved the right to add to or subtract from the number of vacancies, and to change the number and nature of posts in case of any discrepancy.
Qualifications for the post are as per UGC Regulations 2018 / AICTE / PCI, as adopted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the University of Lucknow. Applications are open to Indian citizens.
Applicants must possess the prescribed qualification, experience and eligibility criteria as on the closing date of the application. Merely fulfilling the minimum eligibility does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. A candidate found ineligible at any stage of the recruitment process will be disqualified and the candidature cancelled.
Candidates belonging to the OBC, SC, ST or EWS categories must submit the relevant certificates as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules. Only matriculation / SSC certificates issued by the concerned educational board are accepted as proof of date of birth.
Salary is payable as per University rules; the advertisement does not publish a fixed figure. The engagement is on a contract basis against the self-financed LL.B. (Integrated) 5-year programme.
The terms and conditions of the post are governed by Government Order No. 2/2020/226/सत्तर-2-2020-18(31)/2018 dated 13 March 2020 and Government Order No. 75/2025/1066/सत्तर-4-2025-70-4099/63/2025 dated 09 October 2025.

Candidates employed in Government sectors or autonomous bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate from their organisation or employer at the time of the interview, together with an unambiguous certificate that no vigilance case is pending or being contemplated against them.
