It runs campuses across the country, one of which is the Jaipur Campus at Gopalpura Bypass, Triveni Nagar, Jaipur. The vacancies

Under Advertisement No. 05/2026 dated 24 July 2026, the University has invited online applications from eligible Indian nationals for engagement of full-time faculty on a contractual basis in the Department of Indian Jurisprudence at the Jaipur Campus, in compliance with the Bar Council of India Rules of Legal Education, 2008.

  • Assistant Professor (Law) - 06 positions
  • Assistant Professor (Dharamshastra) - 02 positions

The University has reserved the right to increase or decrease the number of positions as per requirement and circumstances.

Remuneration and period of engagement

Both positions carry a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 57,700 per month plus HRA. The engagement is initially for a period of 11 months, and the place of work is the Jaipur Campus of Central Sanskrit University, Jaipur.

Eligibility

The essential qualifications are identical for both positions, and are read against the concerned subject - Law for Assistant Professor (Law) and Dharamshastra for Assistant Professor (Dharamshastra):

  • A Master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale where the grading system is followed) in the concerned, relevant or allied subject from an Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university; and
  • The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC such as SLET/SET, or must have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments, in which case NET/SLET/SET is not required.

Candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme before 11 July 2009 are governed by the then existing ordinances of the awarding institution, and are exempted from NET/SLET/SET subject to the Ph.D. having been awarded in regular mode, evaluated by at least two external examiners, an open viva voce having been conducted, two research papers having been published from the Ph.D. work (at least one in a refereed journal) and two papers based on the Ph.D. work having been presented at conferences or seminars sponsored by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR or a similar agency. These conditions must be certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the university concerned.

As an alternative route, a Ph.D. obtained from a foreign university or institution ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings (at any time) by QS, Times Higher Education or ARWU (Shanghai Jiao Tong University) also satisfies the requirement. NET/SLET/SET is likewise not required for Master's programmes in disciplines for which no such test is conducted.

Selection process

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their applications will be required to appear for an online interview, scheduled for 8 August 2026. The detailed interview schedule will be displayed on the Central Sanskrit University website under the RECRUITMENT tab, and shortlisted candidates will be informed through their registered email only, so applicants are advised to check their inbox and spam folder regularly.
