Central Sanskrit University is a central university established by an Act of Parliament in 2020, with its headquarters at 56-57, Institutional Area, Janakpuri, New Delhi. It runs campuses across the country, one of which is the Jaipur Campus at Gopalpura Bypass, Triveni Nagar, Jaipur. The Jaipur Campus houses the University's Department of Indian Jurisprudence, which delivers the LL.B. (Hons.) in Bharatiya Jurisprudence programme.
Under Advertisement No. 05/2026 dated 24 July 2026, the University has invited online applications from eligible Indian nationals for engagement of full-time faculty on a contractual basis in the Department of Indian Jurisprudence at the Jaipur Campus, in compliance with the Bar Council of India Rules of Legal Education, 2008.
The University has reserved the right to increase or decrease the number of positions as per requirement and circumstances.
Both positions carry a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 57,700 per month plus HRA. The engagement is initially for a period of 11 months, and the place of work is the Jaipur Campus of Central Sanskrit University, Jaipur.
The essential qualifications are identical for both positions, and are read against the concerned subject - Law for Assistant Professor (Law) and Dharamshastra for Assistant Professor (Dharamshastra):
Candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme before 11 July 2009 are governed by the then existing ordinances of the awarding institution, and are exempted from NET/SLET/SET subject to the Ph.D. having been awarded in regular mode, evaluated by at least two external examiners, an open viva voce having been conducted, two research papers having been published from the Ph.D. work (at least one in a refereed journal) and two papers based on the Ph.D. work having been presented at conferences or seminars sponsored by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR or a similar agency. These conditions must be certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) of the university concerned.
As an alternative route, a Ph.D. obtained from a foreign university or institution ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings (at any time) by QS, Times Higher Education or ARWU (Shanghai Jiao Tong University) also satisfies the requirement. NET/SLET/SET is likewise not required for Master's programmes in disciplines for which no such test is conducted.
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their applications will be required to appear for an online interview, scheduled for 8 August 2026. The detailed interview schedule will be displayed on the Central Sanskrit University website under the RECRUITMENT tab, and shortlisted candidates will be informed through their registered email only, so applicants are advised to check their inbox and spam folder regularly. The University has reserved the right to conduct a second level of test or interview if required. No TA/DA is payable for attending the test or interview.
Applications are accepted through online mode only. Candidates must register on the Jaipur Campus recruitment portal at csu.co.in/recjaipur with their details and a password, then log in with the registered email ID and password and complete the application form. The window opened on 25 July 2026 and closes on 5 August 2026 at 11:30 PM IST. The engagement is purely temporary and contractual for a fixed period and confers no right to regular appointment in the University. Selected candidates are not entitled to confirmation, LTC, medical reimbursement, pension or other benefits admissible to regular employees, and there is no claim to regularisation, continuation or seniority on the basis of this engagement. Candidates already in employment must furnish a No Objection Certificate from their present employer at the time of document verification. Original documents supporting educational qualifications, age, experience and category claims will be verified before engagement, and any false or misleading information will lead to cancellation of candidature. Reservation and age relaxation apply to eligible candidates as per CSU and Government of India rules. The University has reserved the right to terminate the engagement at any time, even before the stipulated period, without assigning any reason.
