About the recruitment

Central University of Haryana, established at Jant-Pali in Mahendergarh district under Act No. 25 of 2009 of Parliament, has issued Employment Notice Advt. No. CUH/03/R/T/2026 dated 31.07.2026, signed by the Registrar. The notice invites online applications from Indian nationals, including overseas citizens of India, for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor through direct recruitment across nine departments and schools.

The Department of Law is one of those departments. This listing covers only the Assistant Professor (Law) vacancies advertised under this notice. Posts in the other departments named in the same advertisement, and the separate School of Basic Science advertisement CUH/02/R/T/2026 issued the same day, are not covered here.

Posts in the Department of Law

The advertisement shows three Assistant Professor posts in the Department of Law, distributed as follows:

  • Assistant Professor (Law) – Unreserved: 2 posts
  • Assistant Professor (Law) – OBC: 1 post

No Professor or Associate Professor post is advertised for Law under this notice. The scale of pay for Assistant Professor is Academic Pay Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, and the notice records that all advertised posts carry UGC pay scales plus admissible allowances.

The university states that the posts advertised are tentative and that it reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts, and to withdraw the advertisement in part or wholly, without assigning reasons.

Eligibility

Qualifications and experience for the posts are governed entirely by the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education, 2018, as amended from time to time, and by AICTE / NCTE / PCI norms where applicable. The date of eligibility is the last date of the advertisement.

  • Applicants for Assistant Professor must submit a certificate from the concerned university, in the format at Annexure I and II as applicable, confirming that their Ph.D. degree complies with the relevant UGC Regulations for the award of a Ph.D.
  • Applicants awarded a Ph.D. by a foreign university must enclose an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, failing which the application will be summarily rejected.
  • Candidates claiming reservation under SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / PwBD / EWS must upload the supporting certificate in the format prescribed by the Government of India.
  • The notice records that a person who is not a citizen of India, who has been convicted by a court or has criminal proceedings pending, who is of unsound mind or not medically fit, or who has contracted a marriage with a person having a living spouse, is not eligible to apply, subject to the exemption the competent authority may grant in the last case.

Assessing one's own eligibility is expressly the candidate's responsibility, and the university states that no enquiry on the point will be entertained.

  • UR / OBC / EWS: Rs 1,000, non-refundable.
  • SC, ST, PwBD and women applicants: no application fee.

  • At the interview stage the university may assess teaching and research aptitude through a seminar or a lecture in a classroom situation, or a discussion on the capacity to use current technology in teaching and research.
