Maharaja Suhel Dev University, Azamgarh (Uttar Pradesh) has invited online applications from Indian citizens for the post of Assistant Professor, purely on contract basis, in departments running under the university's self-financed programme. The university's newspaper notice for the advertisement refers to the self-financed B.E. and B.A. LL.B. courses.

Pay: fixed salary of Rs 57,700 per month, as per university norms

Eligibility

Minimum eligibility and qualifications follow the UGC Regulations, 2018 (Gazette of India No. 271, dated 18 July 2018), U.P. Govt G.O. No. 800/sattar-1-2019-18(114)/2010 dated 28 June 2019 and G.O. No. 1190/sattar-1-2019-16(114)/2010 dated 15 October 2019, along with the U.P. State Universities Act, 1973 and the Governor's Secretariat orders cited in the advertisement.
Qualifications, experience and eligibility are reckoned as on the closing date of application.
Degrees must be from institutions recognised by UGC/AICTE or another relevant statutory body; foreign degrees need an AIU equivalence certificate.
Ph.D. holders awarded under the UGC Ph.D. Regulations of 2009 or 2016 are exempt from NET/SLET/SET for recruitment as Temporary Assistant Professor; the advertisement also sets out the pre-11 July 2009 Ph.D. and pre-19 September 1991 relaxations.
Reservation follows Government of U.P. rules and is available only to residents of Uttar Pradesh, who must attach a domicile certificate and category certificates in the prescribed U.P. format. OBC creamy layer candidates apply as UR.
Candidates employed in government sectors or autonomous bodies must produce a No Objection Certificate and a no-vigilance certificate at the interview.

Selection process

There will be a written test for the Assistant Professor post.
The research score (API) will be published on the university website; objections to it must be sent within seven days of publication to recruitment@msdsu.ac.in.
Shortlisted candidates face a test of teaching skill through a PowerPoint presentation at the time of the interview.
Meeting the minimum eligibility does not by itself entitle a candidate to an interview call. No TA/DA is paid for the written test or interview.

Apply online through the university's Samarth recruitment portal (link below) between 4 October 2026 and 24 October 2026, uploading all supporting documents; scrutiny is done only on the documents uploaded.
Corrections to the online form are allowed until 26 October 2026.
Send the complete online application form, signed by the candidate, with attested copies of testimonials by Registered/Speed Post only, to reach The Registrar, Administrative Building, Maharaja Suhel Dev University, Azamgarh 276128 (U.P.) on or before 31 October 2026.
Employed candidates must enclose income tax returns (Form 16) and salary slips of the last three years, plus appointment and experience letters from the competent authority.
Only the matriculation/SSC certificate is accepted as proof of date of birth. Bring all original documents and the filled application form to the interview.
Incomplete applications, or those received without the requisite documents or fee or after the prescribed date, will be rejected.
