Associate / Senior Associate at Poovayya & Co., Bengaluru (4-6 yrs PQE, Tech Law)

Poovayya & Co. is hiring an experienced dispute resolution lawyer to join its team in Bengaluru as an Associate / Senior Associate – Information Technology Lawyer. This is a role for litigators who already have deep exposure to technology law, intermediary liability, and the regulatory landscape around online platforms.

If you have spent the last few years advising or representing technology platforms and social media intermediaries, and you are comfortable moving between courtrooms and boardrooms, this position is built for you.

As an Associate / Senior Associate, you will work on litigation and advisory matters for intermediaries, combining strategic counsel with courtroom representation. Your day to day will include:

• Handling litigation and advisory matters for intermediaries.
• Providing strategic legal advice and representing clients before courts.
• Drafting pleadings, legal opinions, and other litigation-related documents.
• Advising clients on intermediary liability, technology laws, content moderation, and criminal law.
• Supporting regulatory compliance and advisory work for technology platforms and social media intermediaries.
• Working closely with domestic and international clients and foreign counsel.

You should bring:

• 4-6 years of post-qualification experience.
• Litigation experience, including drafting pleadings and effective advocacy before courts.
• A strong understanding of intermediary liability, the Information Technology Act and related Rules, emerging technology laws, content moderation, and criminal law.
• Experience advising technology platforms and social media intermediaries on regulatory matters.
• Excellent drafting, research, and client management skills.
• The ability to explain complex legal issues in practical business terms and to articulate them clearly to foreign lawyers.
• A strong grasp of India's technology ecosystem and the ability to work comfortably with foreign counsel.
• Exceptional command of English, strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines.
