About the Diploma

The Indian Law Society, Pune, has announced the second batch (Batch II) of its Autonomous Online Diploma in Human Rights & Laws for the academic year 2026-27. The programme runs online for approximately three months, with classes every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm.

Admission: First Come, First Served

Admissions are on a first come, first served basis and are confirmed only on payment of the fees. The official notice does not give a last date for registration (rolling admission until the batch fills); the date of commencement will be announced on the ILS website after the batch gets full. Seats: minimum 20, maximum 40.

Eligibility

  • Students of all years of B.A.LL.B. / B.B.A.LL.B. / LL.B. programmes, or
  • DTL / DLL & LW students, or
  • Graduates in any faculty, or
  • Any professional

Fee (including GST)

  • Rs 14,810: current ILS students
  • Rs 17,405: non-ILS candidates, including ex-students of ILS

Commencement and Schedule

  • Lectures tentatively begin in the last week of October 2026; the exact date will be announced on the ILS website after the batch is full.
  • Duration: approx. 3 months
  • Days and time: every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm (online)

  • Module 2: Panoramic view of Human Rights (international and regional instruments)
  • Module 3: Human Rights and the Indian Constitution
  • Module 4: Human Rights and various important legislations
  • Module 5: Human Rights and Judiciary
  • Module 6: Human Rights under the Indian Criminal Law
  • Module 7: Challenges to Human Rights
  • Module 8: Commission for Protection of Human Rights
  • Module 9: Voluntary Organizations / People's participation / Media / PIL and Human Rights
  • Module 10: Specific Human Rights of vulnerable groups and others
  • Module 11: Rights to Development and Human Rights
  • Module 12: Right to Self-determination
  • Module 13: Humanitarian Law and Armed Conflict
  • Module 14: Project / Dissertations on various Human Rights topics and issues
  • Module 15: Practical and Legal Training

Assessment Pattern

  • Written examination: 50 marks
  • Viva-voce: 20 marks
  • Dissertation: 30 marks
  • Total: 100 marks

How to Apply

Fill in the online Event Registration Form on the ILS website (choose the attendee type: ILS Students, Other Students or Professionals; students upload a scan of their current ID card) and pay the fee online. Admission is confirmed on payment, so register early: seats are allotted on a first come, first served basis until the maximum of 40 is reached.
