Overview

The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (CADR-RGNUL) invites blog submissions on a rolling basis for The CADR Blog. If you have something thoughtful to say about arbitration, mediation, conciliation, negotiation, Lok Adalats or any other corner of ADR, this is an open, year-round platform to get your writing read.

Submissions are accepted continuously, so there is no single cut-off date. Your piece should run between 800 and 1,500 words (excluding endnotes), and you can write solo or with one co-author. Both English and Hindi submissions are welcome.

About the Centre

CADR-RGNUL is committed to advancing research, policy engagement and capacity-building in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution. Since its inception, the Centre has worked to bridge the gap between academia and practical application, while addressing the lacunae that persist in existing ADR discourse.

The CADR Blog integrates insights from both academic and professional domains, with the aim of advancing socio-legal and socio-political justice through ADR. It features writing on contemporary developments and emerging trends in dispute resolution, fostering dialogue on the theoretical, practical and policy dimensions of the field. Reflecting its inclusive vision, the CADR-RGNUL website is accessible in English, Hindi and French for a diverse global readership.

What you can write about

The blog welcomes original and analytical pieces on any aspect of ADR mechanisms, including but not limited to arbitration (domestic, foreign and international), mediation, conciliation, negotiation and Lok Adalats. Contributors are encouraged to explore theoretical frameworks, practical applications, comparative analyses and emerging trends. Interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral works exploring the intersection of ADR with other branches of law are also encouraged. Analytical pieces are preferred over purely descriptive ones.

Who can apply

The call is open. Academicians, legal practitioners, research scholars, and undergraduate and postgraduate students with an interest in ADR are all welcome to contribute. You may submit a single-authored piece or co-author with one other person (a maximum of two authors per submission).

Submission guidelines

  • Word limit: 800 to 1,500 words, excluding endnotes. Longer posts may be accepted and published in parts at the Board's discretion.

  • File format: Submit in .docx format. The file name should be the title of the post, with no personal details of the author(s).

Review process

Each manuscript undergoes two rounds of double-blind review by the CADR Editors, evaluated solely on the quality of the content. Each round may take up to 15 days, though the Board endeavours to respond within a week. Accepted authors are expected to address review comments and minor editorial changes in good faith. The Editorial Board retains complete and final discretion over acceptance or rejection and does not entertain requests for advance opinions on abstracts, outlines or topic proposals.

Copyright and cross-posting

On final acceptance and publication, copyright in the piece vests with CADR-RGNUL, while you retain your moral rights as the author. Cross-posting a published piece elsewhere is permitted only with the prior permission of the Board, and such posts must acknowledge that the content was first published on The CADR Blog.
