About the Centre

The Centre for Corporate Laws and Governance (CCLG) is a research centre of Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur. The Centre says it works to advance research and dialogue in corporate law, with a particular focus on areas governed by SEBI regulations and the Companies Act, through research, training programmes, workshops, seminars and industry interaction. Its Director is Dr. Shruti Nandwana.

About the CCLG Blog

The Centre runs the CCLG Blog as a scholarly platform for critical engagement with evolving issues in corporate governance, regulatory policy and allied areas of commercial law. It hosts original and timely commentary from students, academics and practitioners across India and aims to bridge legal academia and professional practice.

Scope and Subject Areas

The Blog's primary focus is corporate governance and commercial regulation, but it also welcomes work that intersects with adjacent legal fields. The Centre lists the following areas, without limiting itself to them:

  • Corporate law, governance and board accountability
  • Securities regulation and capital markets law
  • Mergers, acquisitions and restructuring
  • Insolvency, bankruptcy and creditor rights
  • Banking and financial regulation
  • Competition law and regulatory economics
  • Tax law and fiscal policy
  • Emerging areas such as ESG, fintech regulation and digital commerce law

Types of Submissions

  • Articles: in-depth analytical pieces on a legal question, policy issue or doctrinal development.
  • Case Analysis: critical analysis of landmark or recent judicial and regulatory decisions.
  • Opinions and Perspectives: concise, argument-driven pieces on contentious or emerging legal questions.
  • Legislative Notes: structured responses to new legislation, amendments or regulatory notifications.

Eligibility

The Blog publishes commentary from students, academics and practitioners. Co-authored submissions are accepted. Every co-author must be identified in the submission form, and one author must be named as the primary contact for editorial correspondence.

Submission Guidelines

  • Word limit: 800 to 1,500 words.
  • Title: no more than twelve (12) words.
  • Submit both an MS Word (.docx) and a PDF version of the manuscript.
  • Formatting: Times New Roman, 12 pt body text, 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment.
  • Headings in bold capitals, numbered (for example 1, 2, A, B); sub-headings in bold capitals, numbered under their headings.
  • Referencing: all sources must be hyperlinked.
  • The piece must be wholly original and unpublished, and must not be under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism and unattributed paraphrasing lead to disqualification.
  • Submissions with more than 15% plagiarism are disqualified. The use of AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini) for drafting, paraphrasing or generating any part of the piece is prohibited, and AI-generated submissions are disqualified.
  • The Centre expects analysis rather than description: evaluate, critique and argue, and open with an introduction that states the central argument and outlines the structure.
  • Non-conforming manuscripts may be returned for reformatting before review.

Copyright

On acceptance and publication, copyright in the piece vests with CCLG, DNLU Jabalpur. Authors keep the moral right to be credited as the original authors. Any republication elsewhere must acknowledge that the work first appeared on the CCLG Blog.

Editorial Review

All submissions go through a double-blind peer review by the CCLG Editorial Board, which has sole discretion over acceptance, rejection or conditional acceptance. Review takes approximately 2 to 3 weeks from the date of submission. After 3 weeks, authors may write to cclg@mpdnlu.ac.in for a status update. Conditionally accepted pieces must be revised within 7 days.

Deadline and Fee

The Centre's submission page states no closing date, so pieces may be sent at any time. The Centre's pages do not mention any submission or publication fee.
