The Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP) at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, invites blog submissions for its CCRP Blog Series. The series explores consumer affairs through the lens of law, research, and policy, offering insights into consumer rights, market practices, and regulatory developments. If you enjoy unpacking how legal frameworks meet real-world challenges, from digital marketplaces to product safety and dispute resolution, this is a space to publish your work.
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis with no fixed deadline, so you can write and submit whenever you are ready.
The CCRP at NUSRL Ranchi is one of the few academic chairs in India focused exclusively on consumer research. It works to bridge legal theory, empirical research, and policy reform in the consumer protection landscape, serving as a hub for interdisciplinary research, policy analysis, and advocacy on issues such as the digital marketplace, consumer vulnerability, deceptive trade practices, and access to redressal mechanisms.
The Chair engages with regulatory bodies, consumer forums, civil society organisations, and legal professionals, and has run programmes including a Three-Day Capacity Building Programme for the Presidents and Members of the Consumer Commissions of Jharkhand, sponsored by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India.
The series welcomes writing on contemporary consumer law, research, and policy. The following sub-themes are illustrative, not exhaustive, and you are free to write on any topic within the broader ambit of contemporary consumer laws:
There is no submission or publication fee. Participation is completely free.
All submissions undergo a mandatory two-stage review, targeted for completion within 21 days (this may be extended for necessary revisions or a high volume of submissions).
Stage 1 - Initial screening and acknowledgement: The manuscript is checked for relevance to the sub-themes and contemporary consumer laws, and screened for plagiarism using Turnitin. Once it clears, you receive an acknowledgement confirming it has moved to Stage 2.
Stage 2 - Double-blind peer review and editorial decision: The manuscript is sent for double-blind peer review by experts, who provide detailed comments and suggested revisions. You then receive the comments along with an editorial decision (Accepted, Accepted with Revisions, or Rejected). The decision of the CCRP Editorial Board is final.
Submissions are evaluated on originality and relevance to the sub-themes and broader consumer law, clarity of argument and logical flow, depth of research and engagement with existing legal and policy frameworks, and adherence to the submission guidelines.
All submissions must be sent through the official Google Form, specifying that you are submitting a blog in the subject. To preserve anonymity for peer review, no biographical information or references (including author name, affiliation, or acknowledgements) should appear in the body of the manuscript. A separate cover letter carrying the author's name, designation, institution/affiliation, manuscript title, and contact information must be submitted along with the manuscript.
