Call for Blogs: GNLU Blog on Business Laws and Policy (GBBLP), Rolling Submissions (No Fee)

The GNLU Blog on Business Laws and Policy (GBBLP) is the flagship blog of the GNLU Centre for Business & Public Policy (GCBPP) at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. It publishes short analytical pieces on corporate, securities and business law and aims to be a one-stop portal for students and practitioners following developments in these areas. The blog takes submissions on a rolling basis, so there is no closing date.

GCBPP is one of GNLU’s centres of excellence. It promotes interdisciplinary research and training in capital markets, securities law, financial and business regulation and public policy, and runs the GNLU International Conference on Business, Law and Public Policy, the GNLU–Khaitan & Co Advanced Certificate Programme on Capital Markets and Securities Law and the GNLU–Nishith Desai Associates Policy Drafting Competition.

The blog accepts submissions on contemporary issues in:

• Corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions
• Securities law and capital markets
• Banking and finance, and investment funds
• Insolvency and restructuring
• Arbitration and alternative dispute resolution
• Competition law
• Taxation
• Business and public policy, and other contemporary issues in financial and business policy

Submissions are invited from students, academicians and practitioners. Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two authors.

• English only.
• Between 1,200 and 1,500 words, excluding endnotes. Longer pieces can be split into a two- or three-part series, provided each part is complete in itself.
• The title must not exceed 10 to 12 words.
• Articles, opinions, case comments and short notes are accepted, as are pieces analysing or critiquing existing academic research.
• Pieces should be lucid, contemporarily relevant and well researched, with a novel analysis. The Editorial Board prefers analytical submissions with concrete suggestions over descriptive ones.
• Do not put your name or institution in the body of the manuscript, and do not refer to yourself in the first person. Refer to cases by the parties’ names rather than “petitioner” or “respondent”.

• Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, justified, with one-inch margins on all sides.
• Title in bold and underlined, in sentence case (no all caps or small caps). Heading 2 in bold; Heading 3 underlined.
• Give references as hyperlinks in the body, preferably to open-access sources. Use endnotes only where no hyperlink is available; speaking endnotes are not allowed.
• Endnotes: Times New Roman, 10 pt, single spacing, justified, OSCOLA citation.
• No borders, and no graphs or images unless they are needed to illustrate the argument.

• Work must be original and unpublished. Every submission is screened with plagiarism software, and plagiarised work is rejected.
• The use of artificial intelligence tools is strictly prohibited.
• Do not submit the manuscript elsewhere while it is under review.
• Once a piece is selected, the author(s) transfer copyright to GCBPP; moral rights stay with the author(s).
• Published posts may be cross-posted elsewhere only with prior permission, and the cross-post must state that the piece was first published on the GNLU Blog on Business Laws and Policy.

Submit the manuscript as a .doc or .docx file through the blog’s Google Form, which asks you to sign in to a Google account. Name the file “Title_GCBPP Blog”. Submissions sent any other way are rejected, so do not email your manuscript. There is no submission fee.

The Editorial Board carries out a strict double-blind peer review and has absolute discretion to accept or reject a submission. Publication depends on the author making any changes the Board suggests. If your piece is on a time-sensitive development, you may ask for an expedited review.
