Call for Blogs: Nitisara Blogspace by Kautilya Society, HNLU Raipur [1,000-1,500 Words; Rolling Submissions]

The Kautilya Society at Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur is a student-led policy think tank that works at the intersection of law, society and public policy. It runs research initiatives, surveys and collaborations, and aims to foster informed debate, critical thinking and writing on issues of contemporary relevance. The Society's faculty convenor is Dr. Ankit Awasthi.

Nitisara Blogspace is the Society's blog, run as an emerging platform for policy discourse within and beyond the legal fraternity. The Society has opened the blog to contributions from students, researchers and policy enthusiasts across the country, and invites original, well-reasoned and insightful pieces that further public engagement on legal and policy issues.

The Society's editorial policy invites articles, commentaries, analyses and critical reflections on the intersection of law and public policy, including governance frameworks, policy implementation, legislative analysis, regulatory studies, constitutional interpretation and related domains. Submissions are expected to align with the Society's focus on the relationship between legal frameworks and public governance.

Contributions are open to students, scholars, practitioners, policymakers and thinkers from diverse backgrounds, with the call specifically addressed to students, researchers and policy enthusiasts across the country. A maximum of two authors may collaborate on a single submission.

• Word limit: 1,000 to 1,500 words, excluding references. Exceptional pieces exceeding this limit may be considered for publication in multiple parts at the Editorial Team's discretion.
• Abstract: Each submission may include an abstract of not more than 150 words.
• Citations: Primarily as hyperlinks within the text. Where hyperlinks are not feasible, use endnotes following the Harvard Bluebook Citation (20th Edition) format. Speaking footnotes are not permitted.
• Co-authorship: A maximum of two authors per submission.
• Formatting: Garamond size 12 for the main text, 1.5 line spacing between lines and single spacing between paragraphs. Titles in Garamond size 14, uppercase and bold.
• Author details: Send a short bio with your name and your LinkedIn profile in the covering email. The manuscript itself must be anonymised.
• Retraction: Authors may retract a submission within 5 days of the submission date.

• Plagiarism in the blog must not exceed 10 per cent. The Editorial Board may exercise discretion in exceptional cases to preserve content quality.
• The AI detection percentage is determined by the editors on a case-by-case basis.
• A blog must not be under submission elsewhere. If it is, the author must inform the editors at any point during the review process. Cross-publication without intimation leads to blacklisting of the author or authors and their submission.

Every submission goes through a comprehensive double-blind review, assessed on merit, relevance and quality. The Society aims to complete reviews within three weeks of receipt, and confirmation of receipt is typically sent within 48 hours; authors who do not receive an acknowledgement are asked to follow up on the same email.

The first stage involves two rounds of review. The draft, along with any comments or suggested changes, is then shared with the author if required, and a second round of review follows before final publication. Withdrawal of a submission before the end of the stipulated 7-day review period, or after acceptance has been communicated, is not permitted, and the Society reserves the right to cease collaboration with contributors who do so. The Editorial Team evaluates only complete manuscripts and does not provide preliminary assessments on abstracts or proposals.

The call does not prescribe any submission or publication fee. Submissions are accepted year-round on a rolling basis, so there is no closing date.

All submissions must be made exclusively by email to ksociety@hnlu.ac.in. Manuscripts must be sent as Word documents (.doc or .docx). To maintain anonymity, the manuscript must not carry author information; author details go in the body of the email only.
