The Innovation Brief is a student-run blog on intellectual property, technology and competition law from National Law University Delhi, run with institutional support from the Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition (CIIPC). It invites short, analytical pieces relevant to Intellectual Property, Technology and Competition Law.
The Brief takes submissions on intellectual property, technology and competition law. While the blog is primarily law-focused, it accepts written submissions across all disciplines as long as they fall within the broad ambit of the intersection between technology, innovation and law.
Each month the Board names a theme. The theme for October 2026 is EU-India FTA relations: what the EU-India Free Trade Agreement means for intellectual property, technology and competition law in India and Europe. Pieces on the theme are especially welcome; pieces on other subjects remain open all year.
Authors receive an automated response on submitting the form. The manuscript is allotted to editors from the Student Editorial Board, who may take up to 10 days to respond by email; the process may involve multiple rounds of review and feedback. Authors are informed of the status of their submission within fourteen (14) days. All submissions are checked for plagiarism and use of artificial intelligence using Turnitin, and submissions breaching the internal limit for either are not considered.
Copyright of all blog posts remains with The Innovation Brief; all moral rights vest with the author(s).
Submit the manuscript through the official submission form (a Google Form that requires a Google sign-in). Submissions made any other way will not be considered. Authors receive an acknowledgement at once on submitting the form.
The Board names a theme each month; pieces on other subjects remain open all year, so there is no closing date. No submission fee is mentioned in the guidelines. Questions may be sent to innovationbrief.blog@nludelhi.ac.in.
