Call for Blogs: The NLIU-CLT Blog 2026-27 on Law and Technology, NLIU Bhopal (1,200-1,500 Words, Blind Peer-Reviewed)

The Cell for Law and Technology (CLT) is a research body of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal working at the intersection of law, technology and regulatory policy. Alongside its blog, the Cell runs the Journal of Law and Technology, its TechTonic events series and the NLIU Policy Case Competition, and it files public comments on technology policy consultations. Its recent submissions include comments on the AI Governance Guidelines Development, the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, the Draft National Telecom Policy, 2025, the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Rules, 2025, and several draft Telecommunications Rules of 2025.

The NLIU-CLT Blog is the Cell's online platform for short-form writing on technology law. It publishes commentary from students, researchers and practitioners across institutions and is actively updated, with recent pieces on the regulation of online dating platforms, the political economy of GPUs and AI competition policy, sampling and interpolation in copyright, and the taxation of cryptocurrency under the Income Tax Act, 2025. Published posts are organised under standing categories including Artificial Intelligence, Cryptocurrency, Finance, Information and Technology, Internet Broadcasting, Online Intermediary, Privacy, Social Media and Surveillance.

The Editorial Board for 2026-27 is inviting original and unpublished submissions for the blog through a dedicated call titled "The CLT Blog 2026-27".

No specific theme is prescribed. The official guidelines state that a submission may be about any technological development or any aspect of the technology law regime, which leaves the field open across areas such as artificial intelligence, data protection, financial technology, digital governance, cybersecurity, online intermediaries, surveillance and intellectual property.

Submissions are invited in the form of short essays, commentaries and other forms of writing.

• Word limit: 1,200 to 1,500 words per post. The Cell states that the word limit is subject to relaxation at its sole discretion.
• Co-authorship of a maximum of two persons is permitted.
• Font and layout: Times New Roman, font size 12, line spacing 1.5, with 1 inch margins on all four sides.
• File format: .doc or .docx only.
• Citations: relevant sources must be hyperlinked within the article itself. Sources for which no link can be provided must be mentioned as endnotes. Citations in the form of footnotes are not accepted.
• Anonymity: authors are requested not to put their names anywhere in the main manuscript.

• A maximum of 10% similarity and AI content is permissible for a manuscript to pass the first stage of technical review.
• The Editorial Board does not accept plagiarised content. In case of gross plagiarism, the manuscript is liable to be rejected.
• The submission form requires the author to confirm that the manuscript is original, not generated by AI, and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. If the content is later found to be AI-generated, plagiarised or previously published, it will be rejected and the author bears the consequences.
• The manuscript must be politically neutral and must not conflict with the general guidelines. The language used must not be unparliamentary or abusive, or bring any third person into disrepute.
• The author or authors bear sole responsibility for the accuracy of facts, opinions and views stated in the manuscript.

The official submission guidelines and the submission form do not prescribe any submission, processing or publication fee. Submitting to The NLIU-CLT Blog is free.

Submissions are accepted only through the official Blog Submission Form linked from the Cell's submission guidelines page. The form is titled "The CLT Blog 2026-27 | NLIU Cell for Law and Technology" and was created within the National Law Institute University, Bhopal workspace. A Google sign-in is required in order to upload the manuscript. The form asks for:

• Email address of the corresponding author.
• Name, institutional affiliation, designation, year of study and contact number of the author, and the same details for the co-author where applicable.
• Title of the submission and the word count of the manuscript.
• A concise summary of the submission in 50 to 60 words.
• Links to the author's and co-author's LinkedIn profiles, if available.
• Upload of the manuscript in .doc or .docx format (one file, up to 100 MB).
• Agreement to the originality and copyright declaration.

A copy of the responses is emailed to the address used to submit the form.

Manuscripts first pass a technical review, at which a maximum of 10% similarity and AI content is permissible, and are then put through blind peer review. Manuscripts not in conformity with the guidelines may be rejected at the sole discretion of the Editorial Board, whether before or after the blind peer review, and the Board reserves the right to send a manuscript back to the authors for modification at any stage.

Authors are informed of the status of their manuscript within twenty-eight (28) days. If there is no reply within that period, authors may email clt.editorial@nliu.ac.in seeking an update. The Editorial Board may, in its absolute discretion, waive any of the rules or amend the process, and in case of any dispute or ambiguity its decision is final and binding.

Copyright in all blog posts vests with the Cell for Law and Technology. All moral rights remain with the author or authors. The submission form additionally records that the author holds the copyright in the manuscript at the time of submission and grants exclusive rights to the designated website.
