The VIPS Law Blog (VLB) is the law blog of the Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS), VIPS-TC. It aims to promote a research-conducive atmosphere and academic excellence in law by hosting original contributions with in-depth analysis and interpretation of legal issues and concepts. The blog seeks to create an exchange of opinions and perspectives amongst law students, academicians, jurists, legal practitioners, and law and policy enthusiasts, and accommodates submissions which initiate, further and transform discourse on matters of law and policy.
The blog invites original, analytical and accessible blog posts on contemporary legal issues. Recent posts cover areas such as corporate and securities law, banking regulation, environmental law, debt recovery, international law and human rights.
Include a brief bio in the same Word document as the post, with, if applicable, a hyperlink to your university or professional web page and details of any Twitter profile. Attach a colour photo of yourself to the email; you may also send other photographs relevant to the content of the post. The email must carry a declaration that the work is original and not submitted elsewhere. All submissions must be original, unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere, and plagiarism leads to outright rejection.
All submissions are subject to editorial review and editing. The Editorial Board reserves the right to suggest changes, make minor editorial modifications, and reject any submission without providing feedback. The decision of the Editorial Board is final and binding.
Once published, copyright vests with the VIPS Law Blog and VIPS-TC. Authors retain the right to share the blog for non-commercial purposes and to reuse the content in academic work with appropriate acknowledgment. Any cross-post must include the acknowledgment: “This article was first published on the VIPS Law Blog.”
Email your submission as a .docx file to vipslawblog@vips.edu, which is also the address for all queries. The official guidelines do not mention any submission or publication fee.
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, so there is no closing date. Publication takes place throughout the year except during the summer break (June to July), Diwali and Internal Evaluation Examinations (October / November), and the winter hiatus (Christmas to New Year), so a piece sent now may be published after the October / November pause.
