Madhyastha - Centre of Excellence in ADR is the alternative dispute resolution centre of the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab. The centre was inaugurated in September 2024 by judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and works on research, training and scholarship in arbitration, mediation and conciliation. Its advisory board for this volume is chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Simran Kaur Gill, Executive Director, and Dr. Navneet Kaur Chahal, Head of Department, LL.B. and LL.M.
About the Book
Madhyastha invites original and unpublished research chapters for an international edited book titled ADR and Emerging Global Trends. The volume starts from the observation that dispute resolution is changing faster than most institutions can track: artificial intelligence is entering arbitration rooms, cross-border trade is generating disputes that no single national system was built to handle, and online platforms are reshaping how ordinary people resolve conflict.
The book will explore how alternative dispute resolution is evolving in response to globalisation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cross-border commerce and emerging legal challenges. It is designed as an interdisciplinary platform for scholars and professionals to contribute original research on contemporary ADR practice, policy and future direction. The aim, as the organisers put it, is to bring together researchers, academicians, industry professionals and practitioners to contribute high-quality chapters on cutting-edge developments in ADR and its emerging legal areas.

Who Can Contribute
The call is open to academicians, researchers, legal practitioners, arbitrators, mediators, policymakers, judges, officers, doctoral scholars, postgraduate students and ADR professionals. Contributions are welcome from India and abroad.
Manuscript and Policy Requirements
- Chapter length: 5,000 to 7,000 words
- Abstract length: 200 to 300 words
- Keywords: 5 to 6
- Language: English
- Citation style: ILI (Indian Law Institute)
- Turnitin and AI reports are required
- Maximum three authors per chapter
- Similarity index: not more than 10%
AI-generated manuscripts are not accepted. Authors must ethically disclose any use of AI tools for language editing or research assistance.

- Soundness of methodology and argument
- Relevance to the themes of the volume
- Clarity, structure and quality of academic writing
Chapter Processing Charges
There is no fee at the time of submission. Chapter Processing Charges (CPC) apply only per accepted book chapter, once the peer review process is complete.
- Indian authors: Rs 250 (students) and Rs 400 (academicians)
- International authors: US$10 (students) and US$20 (academicians)
