About the conference

The Institute of Comparative Law, Belgrade has announced the call for papers for the 8th Regional Law Review Conference (RLR 2027), to be held on 6-7 May 2027. The Regional Law Review conference was initiated in 2020 and is devoted to topical legal issues in the region of the Balkans and Southeastern Europe, covering both public and private law. Its partner institutions are the Institute of Comparative Law, Belgrade (Serbia), the Faculty of Law, Pécs (Hungary) and Linnaeus University, Växjö (Sweden). Past editions have published 102 papers by 140 authors from 18 countries.

Thematic sections

Authors are free to choose a specific topic of their interest. In 2027 there are three thematic sections:

  • Section 1: Regulation of new technologies in public and private law - any topic that can be related to technological innovations, in private or public law.
  • Section 2: Solidarity and law - concept, normative and social operationalisation and scope of solidarity in areas such as labour law, bankruptcy law, rights of minorities and vulnerable groups, gender equality and discrimination, environmental protection law, social law, philanthropy, political and social activism (CSO work, political party work, grassroots and political movements), professional solidarity and others.
  • Section 3: Human rights law in the changing global political climate - the fundamental values of human rights as a civilisational achievement, and a critical look at the position of human rights in turbulent times, including business and human rights and violations in conflict zones and authoritarian regimes.
