The BMSCL Journal of Law is the annual, double-blind peer-reviewed law journal of B.M.S. College of Law, Bengaluru (an autonomous, NAAC B++ accredited, KSLU-affiliated and BCI-approved institution). The journal invites original, unpublished manuscripts for its upcoming Volume IV. The journal carries ISSN 2584-1165.
The journal welcomes contributions across all branches of law and allied interdisciplinary areas, offering a platform for rigorous academic and practice-oriented scholarship.
Who Can Submit
Submissions are open to academicians, practitioners, advocates, judges, research scholars and law students. Manuscripts may have a maximum of two authors (one co-author). All submissions must be in English and must be original and unpublished.
Categories and Word Limits
- Short Articles: 1,500 to 5,000 words
- Long Articles: 3,000 to 5,000 words
- Case Comments: 1,500 to 3,000 words
- Book Reviews: 800 to 1,000 words
Each submission must carry an abstract of 200 to 250 words with five keywords.
Submission and Formatting Guidelines
- Manuscripts in MS Word (.docx / .doc), Times New Roman 12, 1.5 line spacing; footnotes in Times New Roman 10.
- Citation style: Bluebook, 21st edition.
- No author identification anywhere in the manuscript (blind review).
- A cover letter and a scanned author declaration must accompany the submission.
- An originality / plagiarism report (Turnitin, DrillBit or equivalent) is required.
- Submission is via the designated Google Form (QR code in the brochure).
Submission Ethics and Author Responsibility
Every manuscript must carry a Conflict of Interest statement placed immediately before the reference list (for example, "The authors declare no conflict of interest").
The author(s) bear sole responsibility for the originality of the work and for any dispute arising out of copyright infringement, plagiarism, defamation or contempt; the journal and B.M.S. College of Law shall not be liable for the contents of a published manuscript.
Fee, Copyright and Certificate
There is no submission or publication fee. Copyright in published work vests with B.M.S. College of Law. All published authors receive a free certificate of publication.
