Call for Papers: IILS Law Review, Volume XIII, Issue 1 (March 2027) [ISSN 2320-5318; Blind Peer-Reviewed; Submit by 15 November 2026]

The Indian Institute of Legal Studies (IILS), Dagapur, Siliguri, was established in 2010. It is affiliated to the University of North Bengal, accredited by NAAC, recognised by the Bar Council of India and approved by the University Grants Commission under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. It offers five-year and three-year law degrees, a two-year LL.M. and an M.A. in Public Administration and Governance.

The IILS Law Review (ISSN 2320-5318) is the institute's peer-reviewed law journal. It is inviting submissions for Volume XIII, Issue 1 (March 2027), which focuses on various aspects of law and emerging trends in socio-legal issues. The editors state a strong preference for papers that assert and defend a well-reasoned position.

Submissions are welcome from academicians, practitioners, students, researchers and experts.

On authorship, the two official documents differ: the call poster says single-authored submissions only, while the detailed guidelines document allows up to two co-authors (with one designated as corresponding author in the declaration). If you plan a co-authored paper, check with the editors by email first.

• Article (4,000 to 6,000 words): a complete analysis of the chosen area of law, with a study of the existing law and the author's suggestions and conclusions.
• Note (up to 2,500 words): a concise argument on a relatively new debate or controversy in the interpretation or implementation of law, offering a solution.
• Comment (up to 2,500 words): a critique of a recent or landmark judgment, or of recent legislation or a bill before Parliament or a State Legislature.
• Book review (1,800 to 2,000 words): the book's central idea, the author's style and approach, and an overall evaluation.

• Abstract of 200 to 300 words (Times New Roman italics, 12 pt, 1.15 spacing) and up to five keywords.
• Main text: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, justified, 1-inch margins on all sides. Main title: Times New Roman, 14 pt, bold, centred.
• Headings numbered systematically (1.1, 1.1.1 and so on), following the heading styles set out in the guidelines document.
• Footnotes only, no endnotes: Times New Roman, 10 pt, single spacing, justified.
• Citation style: Bluebook, 21st edition.
• Plagiarism limit: up to 10%, including AI-generated content. Anything above this is rejected outright.

Email the full paper (including the abstract) to iils.lawreview.5318@gmail.com with the subject line Submission for IILS Law Review (Vol. XIII Issue I 2027). Along with the manuscript, send:

• a separate Word file with the title of the paper and the author's contact details (email, phone number and postal address);
• a plagiarism report; and
• the signed Declaration of Authorship (the form is at the end of the guidelines document).

All submissions are blind peer-reviewed, and authors may be asked to revise based on reviewers' comments. The journal says review may take six to eight weeks, and selected authors will be informed by 19 December 2026.

The call does not mention any submission or publication fee. The institute becomes the sole copyright owner of all published material.
