The Indian Journal of Criminology (IJC) is a joint publication of the Indian Society of Criminology (ISC) and National Law University Delhi, managed with NLU Delhi's Centre for Criminology and Victimology. It is a peer-reviewed, open access, bi-annual journal that began in 1973; its inaugural article was written by Justice V. R. Krishna Iyer. The current Editor-in-Chief is Prof. G. S. Bajpai. The most recent issue is Volume 54 (1), 2026.
NLU Delhi has issued a call for papers for Volume 54 (2), the December 2026 issue.
The journal's About page adds that empirical, research-based papers in the broader domain of criminal justice administration are especially encouraged.
Word limits include the abstract (200 to 250 words) and footnotes. Every manuscript must include an Introduction and a Conclusion. Manuscripts must be in English.
The journal states that it does not charge any Article Processing Charges or Article Submission Charges; it is supported by NLU Delhi. Published content is open access under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 licence, and authors assign copyright to the journal on publication.
Submissions are checked for similarity, screened by the editorial team for fit with the journal's aim and scope, and then sent for double-blind peer review. Authors may be asked to revise before the editor's final decision. Accepted articles not placed in the current issue are carried to the next issue, and authors of accepted manuscripts receive an acceptance letter.
