About the Conference

The Department of Law, East West University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, is organising its 3rd International Conference on the theme Law in the Age of Digital Innovation on 23 January 2027. As digitalisation, artificial intelligence and data-driven governance transform legal systems, institutions and society, the conference brings together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, legal professionals and technologists to examine how legal frameworks can respond to, regulate and shape emerging technologies, with particular attention to Bangladesh and the broader Global South.

The organisers invite original, unpublished research papers for presentation.

Who May Submit

Academics, researchers, practitioners, civil society representatives and other legal professionals are invited to submit abstracts. PhD candidates, graduate and undergraduate students are also eligible. Presenters from abroad present online.

Submission Guidelines

  • Stage 1, abstract: maximum 300 words, with a short bio of the author(s) of maximum 150 words giving name, institutional affiliation, designation and full contact information, submitted through the Google Form by 24 October 2026. The Departmental Conference Committee notifies the outcome by 7 November 2026; payment details are shared with selected authors.
  • Stage 2, full paper: accepted authors submit the complete, unpublished paper of 5,000 to 6,000 words including footnotes by 15 December 2026.
  • Submissions must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference; Word (.docx) format; in English.
  • Overall similarity and AI index must not exceed 20%.
  • Citation style: OSCOLA 5th Edition.
  • Formatting: Times New Roman; font size 14 (title), 12 (body text and headings), 10 (footnotes); line spacing 1.5 (body), 1 (footnotes); 1 inch margins on all sides.

Conference Format

Day-long, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm (Dhaka time) on 23 January 2027. Hybrid: in person at East West University for local participants, and online for presenters from abroad.

Registration Fees

Early bird (presenters by 15 November 2026, participants by 20 November 2026):

  • Author / Presenter: BDT 2,000 (standard), BDT 1,000 (student)
  • Participant / Audience: BDT 750 (standard), BDT 500 (student)
  • Presenters from abroad: USD 50 (standard), USD 30 (student)

Regular (presenters by 25 November 2026, participants by 30 November 2026):

  • Author / Presenter: BDT 2,500 (standard), BDT 1,500 (student)
  • Participant / Audience: BDT 1,000 (standard), BDT 750 (student)
  • Presenters from abroad: USD 80 (standard), USD 50 (student)

Details of the payment process are shared with selected authors after acceptance.

Publication Opportunity

All conference papers will be considered for publication in the conference proceedings. Only selected papers will be considered for publication in a reputed, peer-reviewed journal, subject to further review.
