About the Journal

The NLUA Law & Policy Review (NLUALPR), ISSN 2455-8672, is a faculty-run, double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, Guwahati. It publishes scholarly articles, comments on recent court decisions, legislative analysis and reviews of recent law books. The Editorial Board invites unpublished original articles, research papers, case comments and book reviews for its upcoming Volume XII, notified on 29 September 2026.

Categories of Submission

  • Research Papers and Articles: 7,000 to 8,000 words, inclusive of footnotes, with a short abstract of 250 to 300 words outlining the main questions or themes. Papers should engage with the theme and the literature comprehensively and offer an innovative reassessment of current understanding. A theme of contemporary importance is advisable but not necessary; purely theoretical pieces are also welcome.
  • Case Comments: 4,000 to 5,000 words, inclusive of footnotes, analysing contemporary Indian or international judicial pronouncements. The comment must trace the line of cases leading to the decision and discuss its implications for that branch of law.
  • Book Reviews: around 1,500 to 2,000 words, identifying the author's main arguments and analysing them comprehensively.

Eligibility and Co-authorship

Submissions are open to teachers, academicians, professionals, judges, jurists and researchers. Only one co-author is allowed, and a student can be the co-author.
