The campus sits at Barela, about 15 km from Jabalpur city centre, on NH 30, Mandla Road, Richai. The university runs a Faculty of Law offering BA LLB, LLB (Hons.), and one-year and two-year LLM programmes through its Department of Legal Studies and Research, and it is the Faculty of Law that is organising this seminar.

About the seminar

The Faculty of Law is organising a one-day seminar on The Future of Intellectual Property: Emerging Trends and Challenges in IPR on 2 September 2026. The seminar is sponsored by the M. P. Council of Science and Technology (MPCST), Bhopal.

The seminar aims to explore how rapid technological and global change is reshaping the way ideas are created, protected and commercialised. The brochure notes that as we move into 2026, innovations such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, Web3, biotechnology and big data are challenging traditional concepts of authorship, ownership and enforcement in IPR, while cross-border infringement, data rights, access to medicines and the protection of traditional knowledge are putting pressure on existing legal frameworks.

Through panel discussions, paper presentations and case studies, the seminar brings together academicians, legal professionals, industry experts, policymakers and students to discuss emerging trends, legal gaps and policy responses, with particular emphasis on the Indian context. The stated objective is to give participants practical insights and forward-looking perspectives on the evolving landscape of intellectual property rights.
