Revista de Drept Constitutional / Constitutional Law Review (RDC) is a platform for advancing the study of constitutional law, comparative constitutional law, and constitutional justice. It is published by Editura Universul Juridic, Bd. I. Maniu, nr. 7, corp C, cladirea Apaca, sector 6, Bucuresti, Romania, regularly 2 times a year (in March and October), under ISSN 2810 – 1979 (Online) and ISSN L 2457 – 8754 (Print). The current issue shown on the site is 1/2026.
RDC opens its pages to scholars and legal practitioners to promote constitutional principles and values, and the knowledge and dissemination of case law of constitutional courts, of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights, of other international bodies, and European and universal standards to guarantee fundamental rights and freedoms.
The journal welcomes articles on doctrine, theory, and practice, case notes and book reviews, with contributions from worldwide. Before submitting, authors should ensure that their contribution falls within the scope of the journal.
The text is written in English. Use only Word format (.doc). Use Times New Roman, font size 12, spacing of 1.5 and 2 cm lateral margins, with the diacritics specific to the language of the article. When using abbreviations, the abbreviated word should first appear in full with its abbreviation in brackets.
The article is divided into sections, each with a heading. The introductory section identifies the problem investigated, the novelty compared to existing doctrinal approaches, the research structure, the research methods used and the solutions proposed. Sections on the research and discussion of the topic follow, from the perspective of comparative and international law, and a conclusions section at the end sets out the research results and ways to exploit them. Contributions should not exceed 20 pages.
Footnotes are in Times New Roman 10, justified, one-line spacing, and numbered continuously for the whole article rather than restarting on each page. Each gives the full name of the author or authors, the title of the work, the publishing house or review, city, year of publication or issue number, and page numbers. Names of publishing houses, books and reviews are written in full, not abbreviated. Titles of books and articles are in italic and names of journals are in quotation marks.
Online articles, reports and official documents follow the same rules, with the note that the document is available online, followed by the date of last access. For case-law, give the document’s name, number and date of delivery or issue, the issuer (court), and the place of publication (Official Gazette, collection or bulletin of judicial practice).
The article must include at least 20 doctrinal sources, of which at least 15 are citations from journals and books included in the Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics) and Scopus.
The journal welcomes case notes from all legal systems. The title should state clearly the number and the title of the case under review. The sections should be, but are not limited to: Introduction, Facts of the case, Relevant Provisions, The ruling of the Court (substantive arguments and procedural arguments presented separately), and Assessment/Comments.
All books concerning the scope of the journal qualify for review. The journal welcomes submissions of proposals as well as finished reviews, and review essays covering several books are also encouraged.
The author must send an Assumption of Liability Declaration together with the work. In it the author declares that the entire content of the article belongs to the author and does not reproduce another work, that bibliographic sources are indicated each time, that no parts or wholes have been reproduced from unauthorized sources, and that the paper is original, unpublished work that has not been published in any other journal. The declaration carries a date and signature, and the form is linked in the documents section of this post.
Manuscripts not prepared in compliance with the formal requirements of the Authors Guide shall not be accepted by the Editorial Board. The journal provides feedback within two weeks from the submission. The Editorial Board makes an initial evaluation of the manuscript on substantive and formal quality before sending it to two independent external Reviewers who are recognized specialists in the given field. All published articles are assigned a unique Crossref DOI number and are available online.
RDC imposes no processing or submission charges for the articles that it publishes.
The online version is open access: users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts without asking prior permission, subject to crediting the author(s), article title, journal and pages cited. The journal is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution – NonCommercial – NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
E-mail the article in English, with the Declaration of Liability of the Author, to redactie@revistadedreptconstitutional.ro. The Authors Guide does not state a submission deadline.
