The Centre for Labour Law and Research (CLLR) at the National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi invites you to contribute to its blog through a call for blogs on contemporary labour law issues. The CLLR Blog is a platform for academic discourse, policy engagement, and critical analysis of current questions in labour and employment law, and it welcomes writing that is accessible, analytical, and research-driven.
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, so there is no fixed cut-off date. There is no submission fee, and the call is open to a wide range of contributors, from students to seasoned practitioners.
The National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi (NUSRL) is a premier residential National Law University established in 2010 by the Jharkhand State Legislature (Act 4 of 2010). It is ranked among the top 20 law schools in India and offers five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programmes.
The Centre for Labour Law and Research (CLLR), established at NUSRL Ranchi, is dedicated to promoting academic research, policy engagement, and informed discourse in the field of labour and employment law. The Centre examines contemporary developments in labour regulation, industrial relations, workers' rights, social security, and the evolving world of work through interdisciplinary and research-oriented initiatives.
By facilitating scholarly discussions, publications, seminars, and collaborations with academicians, practitioners, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, the Centre aims to contribute to the development of labour jurisprudence and strengthen understanding of the legal and policy challenges affecting workers and employers alike.
The CLLR Blog encourages contributions that examine the legal, social, economic, and regulatory dimensions of labour governance while remaining accessible, analytical, and research-driven. Situated in Jharkhand, a region of immense mineral wealth alongside complex socio-economic realities, the Centre is acutely aware of the localised challenges that define the regional labour landscape.
Jharkhand is one of India's largest source states for interstate migrant workers, with millions leaving home due to distress migration and often facing exploitation, bonded labour, and unsafe working conditions. The state's large indigenous and tribal workforce, its heavy reliance on the unorganised sector, and the occupational hazards of its coal and mineral mining industries raise pressing legal and human rights questions. The Blog therefore particularly welcomes submissions that explore these regional complexities and critically analyse how national labour laws intersect with grassroots realities in Jharkhand and similar geographies. Its broader objective is to bridge the gap between academic scholarship, policymaking, industry practice, and workers' rights by disseminating high-quality, impactful research.
Submissions may be made on the following themes, among others.
