Overview

The Centre for Law and Urban Development (CLUD) at National Law University Delhi invites original blog submissions on a rolling basis for its CLUD Blog Series. If you have something sharp to say about how law and policy shape our cities, this is an open, year-round platform to get it published by a respected NLU research centre.

Submissions should offer insightful analysis, critical perspectives, or innovative solutions on emerging challenges in urban law and policy. There is no submission fee, and you will hear back on the status of your piece within two weeks.

About the organiser

National Law University Delhi (NLUD) is a public law university in Dwarka, New Delhi, established in 2008 and known for its academic rigour, strong rankings, and commitment to the rule of law and social justice.

The Centre for Law and Urban Development (CLUD) is a research centre at NLU Delhi that studies the law, policy, and regulation of urban development. It works to promote informed discourse on urban governance, infrastructure, housing, sustainability, and the regulatory frameworks shaping our cities.

About the blog series

The CLUD Blog Series is a platform for analytical and research-driven writing at the intersection of law and urban development. It encourages critical engagement with recent legal, policy, and regulatory developments that affect urban spaces. All submissions must be analytical rather than descriptive.

Theme and sub-themes

Submissions may engage with, but are not limited to, the following indicative themes. These are not exhaustive, and your piece need not fall strictly within any one category:

  • The constitutional right to shelter and legal mechanisms for affordable housing in urban areas
  • Consumer protection under RERA and real estate regulation
  • Insolvency and bankruptcy in the real estate regime
  • Digital infrastructure and the Smart Cities model
  • Competition law in urban development
  • Tax laws and urban development: property taxation, incentives, and compliance
  • Regulating Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in urban infrastructure
  • The legal regime for resolution of land acquisition
  • Integrating sustainable practices in urban planning
  • Promoting socially inclusive and accessible urban development
