Decoding Boardroom Dynamics 2.0: National Boardroom Simulation and NCLT Trial Competition, Presidency School of Law, Bengaluru [Offline; 16-17 October 2026; Register by 7 October 2026]

The Corporate Law Committee of Presidency School of Law, Presidency University, Bengaluru is holding Decoding Boardroom Dynamics 2.0, a two-day National Workshop, Boardroom Simulation and NCLT Trial Competition on 16 and 17 October 2026 on the Presidency University campus in Bengaluru. The event is being held in association with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (Bengaluru Chapter) and SCC Online Times.

The design pairs a multi-stage boardroom simulation with a simulated National Company Law Tribunal trial, so that participants move from corporate decision-making and governance deliberation into pleadings and oral advocacy before a tribunal bench. The brochure states that external judges, including advocates, company secretaries and insolvency professionals, will evaluate the rounds and act as industry mentors, and it advertises cash prizes along with internship opportunities.

Presidency School of Law was established in 2015 at Presidency University, Bengaluru, a NAAC A accredited university founded in 2013. The School runs five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and BBA LL.B. (Hons.) programmes, LL.M. specialisations in IPR and Technology Law, International Law, Criminal Law, Corporate Law and Constitutional and Administrative Law, and doctoral research programmes.

The Corporate Law Committee is the School's student body for corporate practice. Its earlier events include Navigating the Complexities of Corporate Law (September 2024), Decoding Deal Making (February 2025), Expert Insights on Securities Market and Investor Awareness (April 2025), the first edition of Decoding Boardroom Dynamics (November 2025), a Boardroom Negotiation and Governance Simulation Competition (March 2026) and Insolvency 101 (April 2026).

• Panel discussion and preliminary boardroom simulation (Day 1): a keynote and panel session with academicians, practitioners and industry experts, after which 30 teams take on the Corporate Governance Simulation Problem. Sixteen teams qualify.
• Final boardroom simulation (Day 2): the 16 qualifying teams face the Corporate Governance Simulation again, and the top four advance.
• Semi-finals, NCLT trial: the four finalist teams argue the issues arising from the NCLT Trial Problem before the judging panel, with memorial exchange; two teams progress.
• Finals, NCLT trial: the last two teams argue before the tribunal and one team is declared Champion of Decoding Boardroom Dynamics 2.0.

The competition is open to law students, and the organisers expect roughly 150 participants across the two days. Participation takes place in two modes.

• Team participation: an institution may nominate teams of five members, with each member assigned a distinct role, namely Chairperson, Company Secretary, Independent Director, External Legal Counsel and Small Shareholder Director.
• Individual participation: students may register on their own. Such participants are grouped into composite teams by the organising committee and are told their final team composition at least seven days before the workshop begins.

Role allocation is meant to bring strategic, legal, financial and shareholder perspectives into every team.

Registration is open from 1 September 2026 to 7 October 2026 in a single Regular category.

The fee covers the participation kit, breakfast, lunch, materials and certificates.

All participants receive a certificate of participation. The top two teams receive Certificates of Excellence, and separate certificates recognise the best individual roles, including Best Chairperson, Best Independent Director and Best External Counsel.
