Visakhapatnam Port Authority, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, invites applications for appointment to 01 (one) post of Deputy Chief Law Officer (Class-I) on regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs. 60,000 - 1,80,000 in the Law Division, General Administration Department, by Direct Recruitment (Vacancy Notification No. C2/Rect/Dy.CLO/GAD/2026/4482, Dt. 29.09.2026).

Essential:
Desirable: Post Graduate Degree in Law from a recognized University.
Age: upper age limit 40 years as on 01.09.2026; 55 years for existing officers/employees of Major Port Authorities possessing the prescribed qualifications and experience. Age relaxation for different categories applies as per Government of India guidelines, with copies of the relevant certificates submitted with the application.

Scale of pay Rs. 60,000 - 1,80,000. The pay package includes Basic Pay, DA based on IDA pattern and Cafeteria allowances @ 35% of Basic Pay. Gratuity, HRA or quarters, medical benefits, leave encashment, NPS, Group Insurance etc. are also admissible as per the rules of Visakhapatnam Port Authority / Government of India guidelines.
Selection will be through written examination and / or interview, depending on the number of eligible applications received. Where both are held, the weightage is 85% for the written examination and 15% for the interview.
Late or incomplete applications, or applications not supported by the requisite certificates, will be summarily rejected.
This notification re-opens the post. Candidates who already applied with reference to the earlier advertisement No. C2/Rect/Dy.CLO/GAD/2026/4217, Dt. 08.09.2026 will be considered and need not apply again; however, they must submit the hard copy of the application with the relevant documents to the office on or before 13.11.2026.
A candidate must be a citizen of India, or fall within the other categories listed in the notification (subject of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugee or person of Indian origin as specified), who require a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
