About APCRDA

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) is the authority responsible for planning and developing the capital region of Andhra Pradesh, with Amaravati as the capital city. It operates from the APCRDA Project Office at Rayapudi, Tulluru Mandal, Guntur District, and is headed by a Commissioner of the Indian Administrative Service.

Employment Notification No. 06/2026 (Rc.No. MAU61-OPCS0CNTE(APPT)/11/2026-HR, dated 13 August 2026) has been issued by the Commissioner, APCRDA, to engage professionals in the Authority's Strategy division on a contract basis.

Eligibility for Deputy Director

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with relevant specialisation, or a Master's Degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, Urban Planning, Development Studies, Law or any other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification professional experience, including experience in international engagement or relations, multilateral agency engagement and institutional frameworks.
  • Prior experience of working with multilateral agencies or in a government international-cooperation cell, and of dealing with institutional strategic affairs.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing international partnership agreements or programmes, supervising a team, handling senior-level stakeholder relationships and institutional arrangements.

Eligibility for Assistant Director

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with relevant specialisation, or a Master's Degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, Urban Planning, Development Studies, Law or any other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification professional experience, including exposure to any one of: government liaison work, international programme coordination, or institutional and policy matters.
  • Familiarity with documentation cycles such as concept notes and progress reports.
  • Experience with documentation, correspondence drafting and stakeholder coordination in a formal, government or multilateral setting.

Core competencies assessed

The notification states that core competencies are assessed independently of sector background. For the Deputy Director these are analytical rigour, meaning the ability to interrogate data, financial models and policy documents and draw defensible conclusions; structured problem-solving, meaning the ability to frame an ambiguous problem, weigh options and recommend a course of action; written and oral communication, meaning the ability to draft crisp notes, RfPs and briefing material and to hold their own in senior-level and international forums; and initiative and ownership in a fast-moving environment.

For the Assistant Director the listed competencies are analytical ability, meaning comfort working with data, spreadsheets and research material to produce clear findings; problem-solving, meaning resourcefulness in unblocking coordination and documentation issues without escalation; communication, meaning clarity and accuracy in drafting correspondence, notes and presentations in English; and diligence in follow-through and attention to detail.

Role and tasks

Deputy Director: works with the Director Strategy on the organisation's strategy and execution for engaging bilateral and multilateral agencies, foreign governments and international development partners. The post acts as the primary bridge between APCRDA leadership and external partners such as UN-Habitat and foreign missions or consulates, and as facilitator for studying and developing systems for city governance and utility management, ensuring programme alignment with broader Amaravati city development goals. Duties include the overall international partnerships strategy, identifying new collaboration opportunities such as MoUs, technical cooperation, knowledge exchange and co-financing, discussing and structuring MoUs and partnership agreements, representing the organisation in high-level dialogues, missions and international delegations or site visits, dealing with institutional development matters, cross-departmental coordination and oversight of protocol, communications and visibility for international engagements, presenting progress and strategic updates to senior leadership and government, and supporting research on potential new partners and comparative international practices.

Assistant Director: supports the Deputy Director in the operational execution of international partnership activities, managing communications, documentation, coordination logistics and follow-ups with international stakeholders and institutional matters. Tasks include drafting and managing correspondence, notes and briefing material for international stakeholder engagement; coordinating logistics for delegation visits, meetings and site visits, covering itineraries, running orders and protocol; tracking action items and follow-ups from partnership meetings such as MoU implementation and joint working groups; documenting and researching institutional arrangements for urban governance; assisting in preparing presentations, technical notes and progress reports for donor reviews; liaising with internal departments to gather inputs needed for reporting and compliance; maintaining a repository of agreements, correspondence and partnership documentation; and providing administrative and analytical support during negotiations.

Remuneration, tenure and place of work

  • Deputy Director: a fixed monthly consolidated pay of Rs 1,50,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Assistant Director: a fixed monthly consolidated pay of Rs 1,00,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Contract tenure: one year.
  • Place of work: APCRDA, Amaravati, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh.

New candidates must first complete a one-time registration, entering name, date of birth, father's name, gender, marital status, mobile number, email and address, and verify the OTP sent to the registered mobile number. Candidates then log in with the registered mobile number and a fresh OTP to fill and submit the application form.

The application window on the portal runs from 14 August 2026 to 27 August 2026 at 11:59 p.m. The notification states expressly that applications must be submitted through the APCRDA website only, as applications received through any other source or mode will not be processed. No application fee is prescribed in the notification or in the portal user manual.

APCRDA states that the posts are subject to variation based on the need of the project, and that the Authority reserves the right to fill or not to fill the notified posts, or to alter, modify or cancel the entire notification.
