The Dexon Global Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition 2026 (DIMC) is an online moot court competition for undergraduate law students, organised by the Dexon Global Centre for Legal Studies, Policy and Research under the aegis of Dexon Global LLP. The competition runs from 31 July to 2 August 2026, entirely in virtual mode.
DIMC is built around contemporary intellectual property law and is designed to simulate real-world IP litigation and dispute resolution. You will research deeply, build compelling legal arguments and present them before experienced panels drawn from the legal profession, judiciary and academia. Standard registration closes on 20 July 2026, with an early-bird window until 20 June 2026.
The Dexon Global Centre for Legal Studies, Policy and Research is the dedicated academic and research wing of Dexon Global LLP, envisioned as a hub for legal scholarship, policy innovation and interdisciplinary research. The Centre focuses on emerging areas such as intellectual property, technology law, international trade, dispute resolution, sustainability and governance.
It regularly organises conferences, moot court competitions, faculty development programmes, policy dialogues and workshops. Dexon Global also runs the Beyond Briefs Law Review (E-ISSN 3048-4782), at which winning teams of DIMC receive free publication opportunities.
This year's moot problem centres on a legal battle between a famous sports commentator and a popular digital media channel over voice mimicry and structural parody. Rather than dealing with straightforward piracy, the problem tests the boundaries of intellectual property by asking who owns a speaker's unique performance style, signature rhythm and public identity.
Participants are encouraged to engage with both Indian IP law and international frameworks such as the TRIPS Agreement and WIPO treaties, building a comparative, practice-ready understanding of the subject.
All students duly enrolled in an undergraduate law programme (3-year or 5-year) offered by any recognised college or university are eligible to participate.
Payment is made to Dexon Global LLP (IDBI Bank, Nirsa, Dhanbad branch, Account No. 1968102000007405, IFSC IBKL0001968). Confirm the latest payment instructions in the official brochure before paying.
The organisers describe the overall benefits package as worth Rs. 1,00,000.
