About the journal

Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur invites original, unpublished manuscripts for Volume IV (2026) of the DNLU Journal of Legal Studies (DNLU-JLS) — its flagship, faculty-run, double-blind peer-reviewed law journal, bearing ISSN 3048-958X. The journal publishes rigorous legal scholarship across doctrinal, empirical, comparative, interdisciplinary and policy-oriented work, and is distinct from the student-run DNLU Student Law Journal.

Theme

There are no rigid thematic constraints for Volume IV. Submissions are welcome on any area of law of contemporary relevance.

Who can submit

Submissions are open to:

  • Faculty members
  • Working professionals
  • Students, only in collaboration with a faculty member or a working professional

A maximum of two authors is permitted per manuscript; co-authorship is not permitted for Book Reviews and Case Commentaries.

Abstract

Each manuscript must be accompanied by an abstract of 300–350 words along with 4–5 keywords.

Formatting and manuscript guidelines

  • Main text: Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Footnotes: Times New Roman, font size 10, single line spacing.
  • Citations must conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th edition).
  • The similarity (plagiarism) index must not exceed 10%.

Fee

There is no submission or publication fee.

How to submit

Email your manuscript as an MS Word document (.doc/.docx), together with a covering letter containing the author’s details, to dnlujls@mpdnlu.ac.in on or before 5 August 2026. Use the subject line “Submission for DNLU-JLS Volume IV (2026)”.

Review timeline

The editorial review takes approximately 6–8 weeks from the date of acknowledgement of a submission.
