EuCML Award for the Best Paper on Consumer and Market Law 2027: Fairness in Consumer and Market Law

The EuCML Award for the Best Paper on Consumer and Market Law is run by the Editors of EuCML, the Journal of European Consumer and Market Law, a peer-reviewed journal published by C.H. Beck. The goal of the award is to recognise outstanding contributions to Consumer and Market Law. The 2027 call is issued by the EuCML Editors Alberto De Franceschi, Beate Gsell, Jorge Morais Carvalho, Kristin Nemeth and Evelyne Terryn.

All papers tackling pressing issues in Consumer and Market Law will be considered, with a focus on Fairness in Consumer and Market Law.

Applications are welcome from scholars regardless of their length of experience. The call is open internationally and does not restrict entries by nationality or jurisdiction, so researchers and scholars from India may submit.

• Papers of up to 10,000 words.
• The paper must comply with the EuCML Submission Guidelines and the EuCML citation guidelines (linked below). The journal's submissions page notes that word counts include footnotes.
• Send the paper by email to eucmlaward@gmail.com by 30 April 2027.
• The call does not mention any submission fee.

• The EuCML Editors will select four papers after double-blind peer review of all submissions.
• The four selected papers will be presented and discussed at the in-person EuCML Annual Conference in fall 2027. The call does not yet give the date or venue.
• Each selected paper will be assigned two Discussants, leading scholars in Consumer and Market Law.
• All Keynote Speakers, Chairs and Discussants will form the Jury that awards the EuCML Award to one of the four papers.

The papers presented at the conference will be published in Issue 6/2027 of EuCML, with the winning paper receiving a Special Mention. Papers not selected for the conference will also be considered for publication in other issues of EuCML at the author's request, provided they pass the double-blind peer review process.
