Forum on Construction Law 2027 Midwinter Conference, San Francisco (In Person, 3-5 February 2027; Register by 16 January 2027)

The Forum on Construction Law 2027 Midwinter Conference is held from February 3, 2027 to February 5, 2027 at The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square, 335 Powell Street, San Francisco, CA 94102. The Forum returns to San Francisco, a city it has not visited in over a decade.

The programme is titled "Good Vibes, Better Outcomes: Advancing Collaboration and Mediation in Construction Disputes". Nearly every case construction lawyers handle goes to mediation, whether because of a contract provision, a court order or an agreement of the parties, and the Forum has not had a programme devoted to construction mediation in recent memory.

The programme covers the entire mediation process:

• How drafting contract clauses can help project participants focus on dispute resolution rather than simply disputes
• How to help clients avoid disputes in the first place during the project
• Preparation for clients and lawyers
• Insurance coverage questions
• Mediator strategies to turn the parties' attention toward resolution and away from fighting
• The ethics of mediations themselves

Register through the event page by January 16, 2027. You must use the email associated with your ABA profile to register in order to get the correct registration rate. ABA members get an exclusive member rate. A registration confirmation email is sent immediately after online registration. The page lists a Registration Fees tab but the amounts are not on the summary page.

If you have a total of 4 colleagues interested in attending, one person must register them using the Group Registration feature, by selecting the option Add Group Member during registration. Group Registration allows you to register and pay for multiple individuals at once and saves each registrant $50.

The registration confirmation email includes a link to the ABA Housing block. The deadline for the ABA block is January 11 at 5 p.m. CST.
