Overview

The Centre for Constitutional Law and Human Rights (CCLHR), School of Law, Bennett University invites original research papers for its International Conference on "Constitutionalism and Sustainable Development Goals: Ensuring Governance & Rule of Law in India's Transformative Journey".

The conference will be held in hybrid mode from 21 to 23 November 2026 at Bennett University, Greater Noida, as part of Constitution Week 2026. It aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and reimagine development through a constitutional lens, examining how the Indian Constitution aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

About the organiser

Bennett University is a State Private University in Uttar Pradesh, established by the Times Group through Act No. 24 of 2016 passed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Its School of Law (SOL) works towards excellence in teaching, research and advocacy, and the Centre for Constitutional Law and Human Rights drives scholarship in constitutional governance and rights-based development.

Thematic areas for submission

Papers are invited on the broader theme and the following indicative sub-themes:

  • Sustainable Development Goals: interface of Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles and Fundamental Duties
  • Environmental Constitutionalism and Climate Justice
  • Renewable Energy and constitutional mandates of resource distribution
  • Energy Security vis-a-vis National Security within the constitutional framework
  • Centre-State roles in environmental and energy governance
  • Public Trust Doctrine, intergenerational equity and natural resource governance
  • Socio-economic rights and SDGs: health, livelihood, food, shelter, education
  • Disaster management, climate resilience and tortious responsibilities of the State
  • Corporate Social Responsibility and ESG norms
  • Policy accountability and sustainable development governance
  • Role of the judiciary in realisation of the SDGs

Who can submit

Submissions are welcome from academicians and faculty members, research scholars and Ph.D. candidates, students of law and allied disciplines, legal practitioners, policymakers, researchers and NGO representatives.

Co-authorship is permitted, up to a maximum of two authors per paper.

Abstract submission guidelines

The extended abstract should be 1000-1200 words, indicate the chosen theme, and be submitted in MS Word (.doc or .docx) format only, no later than 30 June 2026.

  • Include a cover page with author name(s), designation, institutional affiliation, email ID and contact number(s)
  • Provide a maximum of 5 keywords
  • Main text in Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 spacing, justified; Bluebook (21st edition) citations
  • Plagiarism and use of AI are strictly prohibited; a similarity index of up to 10% is permissible

Abstracts are submitted via the official Google Form link.

Full paper guidelines

On acceptance of the abstract, authors submit a full paper of approximately 5000-8000 words in MS Word format. All papers undergo a rigorous double-blind review. The mode of full-paper submission is communicated by the organisers via official email to selected authors.

Registration fees

The fee is payable only after abstract acceptance, no later than 31 July 2026, and is non-refundable once paid.

  • Students: INR 600 (single author) / INR 500 per co-author
  • Research Scholars: INR 1200 (single author) / INR 1000 per co-author
  • Academicians: INR 2000 (single author) / INR 1800 per co-author
  • International participants: USD 45 (single author) / USD 40 per co-author

Perks and publication

A Certificate of Best Paper Presentation will be awarded. All participants who successfully present their paper receive a certificate of paper presentation (e-certificates for online participants). Selected papers will be published by reputed publishers in an ISBN book.

How to apply

Prepare your extended abstract as per the guidelines and upload it through the official Google Form before 30 June 2026. Pay the registration fee only after your abstract is accepted. For any queries, write to the organising team at the email below.
