The University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Chandigarh University, Mohali, is organising the International Moot Court Competition on Artificial Intelligence & Intellectual Property Rights 2026, branded as JURIS NEXUS - 2026. The competition will be held offline from 24 to 26 September 2026 and is expected to bring together around 60 teams from India and abroad.
The competition focuses on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Rights, an increasingly significant area of contemporary law that examines questions of authorship, inventorship, ownership, and liability arising from AI-driven creation and innovation.
The competition is open to students pursuing the 3-Year LL.B. and 5-Year Integrated Law programmes from recognised institutions. Each institution may field one or two teams. A team must comprise two speakers and one researcher.
Indian participants: Rs 3,000 (without accommodation) or Rs 4,000 (with accommodation).
International participants: USD 51 (without accommodation) or USD 81 (with accommodation).
The total prize pool exceeds Rs 1.8 Lakhs:
