International Sports Law Conference 2026 by the Law Society of Singapore (Marina One, Singapore, 28 August 2026)

The Law Society of Singapore is the professional body for advocates and solicitors in Singapore. Its Learning and Development department runs the Society's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) calendar, and its programmes are accredited by the Singapore Institute of Legal Education (SILE) for Public CPD Points. The Society is registered at 28 Maxwell Road, #01-03 Maxwell Chambers Suites, Singapore 069120.

The International Sports Law Conference 2026 is listed on the Society's own CPD Events page and is being held in conjunction with Singapore Convention Week 2026. LawInSport, the international sports law publication and professional community, is a supporting partner of the Conference and extends a preferential delegate rate to its members.

The International Sports Law Conference 2026, organised by the Law Society of Singapore, serves as a premier bridge between the specialised world of sports governance, dispute resolution, and the broader international commercial legal community. • Fireside Chat: a dialogue between Singapore's Minister for Law and the Director-General of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Singapore's contribution to the evolution of the global sports justice ecosystem, the continued leadership of the CAS, and Singapore's work on national sports tribunals and ADR frameworks.
• Singapore as a gateway for international sport in Asia: sessions featuring global sports administrators on the intersection of national governance and international commercial sporting events.
• Sports arbitration and commercial arbitration: a dedicated panel on the synergy between the two, examining the shared procedural and ethical standards required to maintain integrity across diverse dispute resolution frameworks.
• Networking session: the programme is followed by a networking session at the close of the day.

The Conference is open registration and is not confined to the Singapore Bar. The Law Society's official registration form carries delegate categories for Law Society members and affiliate members, SportSG members, members and employees of supporting associations, and members of the International Bar Association (IBA), the Australia and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA), the Japan Sports Law Association (JSLA), the Associazione Italiana Avvocati dello Sport (AIAS) and LawInSport, alongside an open Non-Member category.

For applicants from India: Indian lawyers, in-house counsel, academics, sports administrators and law students may register under the Non-Member category. Those holding LawInSport or IBA membership may select that category for the lower preferential rate. Note that the discounted student rate is restricted to law students and practice trainees of NUS, SMU and SUSS and is not available to students of Indian law schools, and that SkillsFuture Credit is available only to Singapore Citizens.

The Conference carries 7.5 Public CPD Points, inclusive of 3.0 Public MEC Points, under the Singapore Institute of Legal Education (SILE) Mandatory CPD Scheme. The practice area is recorded as Others/Multi-disciplinary and the training level as General.

Participants who wish to obtain CPD Points must comply strictly with the Attendance Policy set out in the CPD Guidelines. For this activity that includes signing in at the start of the activity and signing out at its conclusion in the manner required by the organiser, and not being absent from the entire activity for more than 15 minutes. Participants who do not comply with the Attendance Policy will not be able to obtain CPD Points for attending.

Members of the Law Society enjoy a S$20 subsidy on this Conference, reflected at the payment page. Singapore Citizens may use SkillsFuture Credit (Base Tier) to offset the course fee, subject to attending and completing the entire programme. Payment routes on the registration platform include PayPal, SkillsFuture Credit, and GIRO DDA for Singapore law firms holding a GIRO account with the Law Society.

There is no separate application or abstract submission; this is a delegate conference and not a call for papers.

Registration on the official platform is recorded as open at the time of drafting. Overseas delegates should factor in travel and Singapore entry requirements, which the organiser does not arrange or fund.

If a registered delegate is unable to attend, a substitute delegate is welcomed, provided that the Law Society of Singapore is notified in writing of the name and particulars of the substitute delegate at least three working days before the programme. Such notice is to be sent by email to the Learning and Development department.

Refund and cancellation requests are dealt with by the Law Society under the terms published on its CPD Events page, and an administration fee may be imposed where a request is approved.
