National Law University Jodhpur, in association with the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) and the Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law Journal (CALJ), invites research synopses for the International Symposium on 'Understanding Representative Governance: Legislative Processes of the United States Congress and the Indian Parliament from a Comparative Perspective', to be held on 1 August 2026.
Organised as part of the broader USA Freedom 250 commemorations, the Symposium fosters comparative engagement with the constitutional histories, legislative institutions and democratic practices of India and the United States. It will feature distinguished speakers including visiting Fulbright Specialist Prof. Paul Koster. Outstanding contributions will be considered for publication in the Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law Journal (CALJ).
Open to all law students (including students of NLU Jodhpur) enrolled in UG, PG and PhD programmes, as well as Research Scholars and Academicians. Co-authorship is permitted up to 2 authors.
Applicants must submit a research synopsis of approximately 1,500 words on the Symposium theme or its indicative sub-themes, comprising an introduction, objectives, research questions, arguments and a brief review of literature.
